Currently doing audio edits and I have realised that I breathe, way too frelling much. Every other bloody sentence, I take a breath like a drowning man breaking the surface of the water, spluttering dreadfully and making little lip-smacking noises. No More Breathing!

We have two cats. One of them is angrily demanding that we go back to bed so she can curl up in the warm, and the other is insisting that the only way she's going to swear the first ideal is if we let her recharge her stormlight in the breath of the Stormfather, and she wants her damn shardplate!

Today has been good, for being under a sky full of storms. Wrote more than a thousand words, completed the edit for an audio version of a short story (first time through, so it's getting another recording) and played 5 hours of DnD with some awesome friends. Very bloody pleasant.

The box for this game is EXACTLY 12-inches long. You know what that means, don't you? The game is a foot.

I wish it was the blob. I was very scared of the blob, but it wasn't the first one that really fucked me up. That goes to the Salt Vampire in Star Trek: TOS. Nightmares for weeks, general paranoia about shapeshifters for decades.

My MP is @gregorpoynton.bsky.social . I would be stunned if he read this. He doesn't get it, and I don't think he's capable of doing so, sadly.

Every time I see any reporting on the various AI 'giants' financials, that section from Henry Rollins' Liar video plays in my head. The bit where he's just screaming "Ha ha ha ha ha", covered in red paint and insanity.

Based on my own reporting on OpenAI's audited financials from 2025, it appears that Anthropic was a worse business (at least in that year), spending $2.75 make $1 versus OpenAI spending $2.60 to make $1. So many people told me this company was "more profitable"! www.wheresyoured.at/exclusive-op...

Fucking "lost generation". When AI is being pushed in education to an absurd degree, and there are practically zero third spaces/things to do if you're a kid? Lost fucking generation? Sinners. Sinners, all of them.

I've been made redundant. AI didn't take my job, but it was definitely a factor in the decision. And right now, more than anything, I just want to feel that warm 'mmm yeah' you can see on baby gator here's face. I want to not be stressed. Does anyone have a very large teapot?

Good. I love this cast, they’re doing great work, and I love SNW, regardless of it’s admittedly all over the place quality right now. But we don’t need a TOS year one show. We already had it. Season one of TOS works fine in that regard.

Further confirmation that the Enterprise is being retired. Akiva Goldsman: "Nobody's called, the sets are gone, everybody else has started to take other jobs. It's never been officially yes, and it's never been officially no. But I don't see it happening."

People in #Cardiff who are into beautiful things with #NoAI , consider popping along to Tiny Rebel on the 22nd of September and looking at some local art. Maybe even buy some local art. Please spread this far and wide, because look, stag!

I just cried in the bath because of @brainmage.bsky.social, and if you want to know why, you have to listen to this. Only, you should start with episode 1, because otherwise you're going to be very confused as to why Penn (and Teller) are talking to a man named Bums. #ROBOTcar

You hear it softly at first. A faint, damp sound just at the edge of hearing, like footfalls on wet leaves, or snowmelt falling onto an old drystone wall. It grows louder as you speed up, hideous certainty solidifying in your mind. You round a corner in the old mansion, damp paint flaking 1/3

another door and halt, horrified. There in the centre of the room, a pool of hideous stinking mulch, swirls of cyan and neon pink mixing with pus-yellow. Your breath catches in your throat as a shape begins to rise from the centre of the pool. They were right. It's free. Blobby. Blobby. Blobby

I am in the process of sending out agent queries for my book. Unfortunately I am also incapable of taking anything seriously. So I had to get the silly query letter out of my system before I can go and write the actual serious ones. Hope you like it. #BookSky #AmWritingFantasy #AgentQueries
