For preemptive blocking ease. Don't give him attention. He years for your attention. Make him sad and forget he exists like I had and am about to again.

JDA is doing a round of responses on a new Bsky account. He asked me what part of his article I disagreed with. I blocked him. No fucking around here.

Terrance Dicks' Doctor Who novelisations are the reason so many people my age fell in love with reading. Tie in books create life long readers and they are written by incredible authors who capture and expand on the stories that we know.

Kate Tell-Tale Heartfield@kateheartfield.com

There is a doofus currently arguing here that no "creative talent" would choose to write tie-ins, and since I just did a panel this weekend on why creative talents choose to write IP, here are a few reasons. Non-financial reasons, for fun and because frankly it usually doesn't pay that well.

The box for this game is EXACTLY 12-inches long. You know what that means, don't you? The game is a foot.

Excellent. I will be intrigued to see how many profiles it can handle.

🚨 Dropout is excited to announce the arrival of USER PROFILES to the website and app! Your Continue Watching & My List categories will no longer be a battlefield for you and anyone else using your account. PSA: Not available yet for Samsung/Tizen apps (but is in the works!)

Fun observation: The sad clown's paradox (aka the Pagliacci Joke) appeared on British kid's TV about a year before it appeared in The Watchmen. Did Alan Moore get the idea from Paul Daniel's Wizbit? We may never know...

Great chance to post my all-time favorite headline

Nick Pettigrew@nick-pettigrew.bsky.social

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

My MP is @gregorpoynton.bsky.social . I would be stunned if he read this. He doesn't get it, and I don't think he's capable of doing so, sadly.

Heather Paterson@heatherpaterson.co.uk

EVERY UK MP needs to read this You are all part of a government that is creating a situation so hostile and unsafe that people are leaving the country This is not an isolated case. You have the power to do something about this.

I need to learn to be more Zen. By which I mean I need to find out how to be in charge of a powerful alien spaceship...

Geek Native@geeknative.bsky.social

UK Games Expo has banned generative AI art, text, and merchandise across all NEC exhibition halls, bringing the convention in line with broader British tabletop standards. Standholders face removal or bans if their products aren't made by humans. #UKGE

For every like this gets, I'll give you a fact about Space: 1999. Have the first one for free! 1) Sylvia Anderson supposedly wanted a more vulnerable commander of Moonbase Alpha who didn't always have the answers to every situation. Robert Culp was a preferred choice of actor.

Happy Breakaway Day to all who celebrate.

Seems weird the whole "are you ready for war if it happens" thing the government is pushing when clearly we've been at war via misinformation, funding far right hate groups, attacking British institutions and so forth for ages. A better question is "when is the government going to do something?"

I've had some more thoughts on this; I want to change the title of the game to 'Away Team' and have it specifically for small-party missions to worlds or other vessels. Basically a Star Trek-themed one-shot dungeon crawl game, with one page maps/adventures for the teams to experience.

Somebody wake up Hicks@jonmarkhicks.bsky.social

Here's a short Star Trek TTRPG I played with a while ago. Have fun with it.

i'm largely opposed to AI rather than viscerally angry about it but today some of my lovely non-computer friends anxiously asked about it ending the world and it filled me with rage. what right do you have to worry these nice people with your made up bullshit. how dare you. they don't even go here

A big villain in Andor is paperwork. It’s such a cold allegory for how people get crushed in the real world. You aren't being fought by a "dark side," you’re being deleted by an efficient clerk who wants a promotion. It makes the Empire feel way more dangerous and present. The monster is here now! 👊

Alan Moore & Melinda Gebbie's "This is Information" from the 2002 9/11 Tribute Anthology comic is one of my favorite comics ever – its metaphorical approach to narrative had a profound influence on my comics making. I share bits of it in class frequently, but worth revisiting on this day...

An RNLI lifeboat guy here, and as I’ve been saying for many years now: why is it that the public have been subjected to hate campaigns against hated enemies including rescue services, Stonewall, Amnesty International, the left of the Labour Party, the National Trust, the Proms and Match of the Day?

If you were a Rogue Trooper bio-chip, which bit of kit would you like to be attached to. (Rogue Trooper's comrades have their personalities encoded on chips in case they get killed. )

Really looking forward to this. I'll be on the What Next for Doctor Who? & John Carpenter Retrospective panels, as well as running the Outrageous Liars panel show...
