This country does not respect Africa, part one.

The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.

People want the art they consume to be decent quality and to have been produced with integrity. In fact, it’s what we want from everything we consume. This isn’t actually difficult.

Its the threat of "police" and "violent altercation" that really outline exactly what white violence looks like. Using the threat of beckoning the state to violently harm you if you don't bend to their demands. That's RACISM as a fucking function of power dynamics in a white supremacist society.

White people think they have the power to police Black people—strangers at that. It’s suuuuch a bizarre experience, when a white person confronts you over something they deem you shouldn’t be doing. And they will legit stand there waiting, expecting you to obey them in real-time as they command.

A viral dog rescue from 2016 is now immortalized with a statue in Kazakhstan. When a dog fell into the Sayran reservoir, bystanders formed a human chain to pull him to safety. The statue is a reminder of the value of unity, solidarity and collective action. 14/10 for all

Bad Bunny made the message clear. The rest of the world made their message clear: We can move on without Donald Trump. We can move on without MAGA. MAGA is not America. MAGA and America are not the world. Let their ideas rot in the last millennium. #MAGA #ICEOUT #BadBunny #Trump

Another unprofessional take of mine: There was no way Epstein would have known that the prison camera was down or that the guards would skip checking. Why would he go through the trouble of an attempted suicide?

There were only 226 homicides in LA last year. The homicide rate of 5.9 victims per 100,000 residents marked the lowest since 1959 when it was 5.5. “However, there were 47 officer-involved shootings in the city in 2025 compared to 29 the prior year, an increase of 62%.”

Weekend rec: A double-bill. Rent the #movie Far From Heaven and the Little Richard #documentary I Am Everything, and watch them back-to-back. Why? Because Far From Heaven depicts the "straitjacketed" world that Little Richard and rock 'n' roll helped liberate society from. #PrideMonth #Movies 1/5

The film "Sinners" highlighted a lesser-known connection between Black culture and Chinese immigrants in Mississippi. However, did you know that there is another interesting connection between Chinese immigrants and the African diaspora that is particularly important to music? #blackmusicmonth 1/14
