I've updated my carrd for the first time in a million years! Now you can see all of the wonderful projects I've worked on (except for the 50 that are still under NDA).
I'm not actually looking for work right now. Really, I just updated this for my own self-satisfaction. Lol
I think it's telling that seemingly no one has attempted to do an acoustic cover of "Shadow 22" yet.
I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but talk about a song that seems like a (Moon) 11/10 on the difficulty meter.
Hey I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS (100 Points of Light was harder in october) on the 1000 POINTS OF LIGHT (it was harder in october) S RANK. I know you've been working really hard (Shadow 22 used to be harder) at it, and I'm happy that you've (Shadow 22 used to be harder) achieved it
My entire loc career thus far has been me going "Wait, people actually like my work?" about 50,000 times.
No matter how many projects you have under your belt, that feeling like you're a sham who's only managed to keep their head above the water through sheer dumb luck never quite goes away.
I don't know which lobe of my brain is responsible for this, but if any brain surgeons want to take a crack at excising a person's anxiety and inferiority center, I'm all ears.
Kind insane that Ace Combat 8 got a T rating when there's a mission where you spend like ten straight minutes listening to a bunch of people boil alive.
Oh, and special shout-out to the voice actors for this game. Everyone did such an amazing job, especially Debra Wilson. Never in a million years did I think I would develop such a strong attachment to a commanding officer, but this game pulled it off, and her performance is what really sold it.
I've finished Ace Combat 8 and will probably stop posting and being annoying about it in the coming days.
But allow me to say this.
This is, without question, a new high for the series. It has surpassed Zero to become my new favorite AC game, and in all likelihood, this will be my personal GOTY.

I so desperately need this to get a GOTY nomination at TGA so we can hear "Everflow" or "Hortus Regis Alti" during the GOTY medley. You guys have no idea.
If your puzzle game is getting reviews like this, I will immediately add it to my Steam wishlist.
(This is for Stephen's Sausage Roll, probably my favorite puzzle game of all time.)

Sam & Max Season One never would have happened if not for Sam & Max: Freelance Police, a LucasArts game that was cancelled on March 3, 2004 — just a few months before its expected release.
(Psst, share this thread for a chance to win a game key!)
I haven't been this in love with a song from this series since "Mimic" from Ace Combat 7's DLC.
When it fully transitions into Ace Combat 04's "Blockade"... dear god, I'm trapped between ascending and wanting to tear up. That's nostalgia done with surgical precision.
As much as I love every single Shadow Squadron track in Ace Combat 8, I think "The Star-Bound Bird" is my favorite song I've heard thus far.
What can I say. It's the "Hopes and Dreams" of Ace Combat. Impossible to listen to it without feeling that sweet, sweet catharsis welling up in your chest.
I know A Plague Tale isn't even on most people's radar, so let me just say that this is a shockingly underappreciated series that is well worth your attention (and a few bucks).

Nothing will make you hate drones more than playing Ace Combat 7 and 8, good god.
Did a mission in Ace Combat 8 last night that may have had the most evil gimmick they've ever put in one of these games, and it was all because of the FREAKING DRONES.
I don't have a single clue how I'm going to S-rank that on Ace difficulty. I restarted from checkpoint like six times and just barely scraped through. All the praise my squadmates lavished on me felt so undeserved. I felt genuinely horrible after finishing that mission.
At the same time, this is a sort of blessing in disguise if you really think about it. It's not often a game can humble me quite so thoroughly nowadays, which is only going to make it all the sweeter when I come back to that mission later and grind it beneath my heel.
Just got back from a trip to my local bookstore. I wanted to check out their manga section, which was pretty okay...
BUT!
I was mortified by all of the books on display with their covers bent at 45 degree angles—or worse! The way people handle books is so deeply upsetting to me.
It takes so little effort to not bend the shit out of a book you're reading. And sure, once you purchase a book, it's your personal property and you can do what you want with it... but I'm still going to think you're a slob.
(Yes, I know I'm being very high-and-mighty, but let me have this.)
Oh man, my decision to say "Yeah, I know I have like 100 free games on EGS, but I think I'm just going to buy them on Steam as my budget allows" is paying dividends.
"We vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher" because "programming is hard", announce company we're somehow supposed to see as a serious Steam competitor https://bit.ly/4hMHbi5
It's been like a week since I've touched Control Resonant and Ace Combat 8 because I've been busy with other things.
But I'll say one thing.
Both games are excellent, but Ace Combat 8 is the one I've been thinking about nearly every single hour of every single day. Serious GOTY contender.
And y'know... I think that's largely thanks to the music. Control has some neat songs it throws at you from time to time, but dear god Ace Combat 8 drops banger after banger on you like they grow on trees.
Never underestimate a good soundtrack's ability to sink its talons in you and not let go.

Game development is just the "it's so over/we're so back" chart stretched to infinity. You'll be riding high only to smash into a brick wall that jeopardizes one of the principal aspects of the game and have to come up with the most ass-pull solution imaginable to get around it.
i'm going to keep trying to make the piping not look like total ass cheeks but this side is the side that turned out the best and i want some serotonin from sharing it #dressmaker#umineko
I finally got to meet the girl I drew.
It’s truly an honor to see her here, and I’m incredibly grateful to Nintendo for giving her a place in this world.

I'm ~30 hours into Control Resonant and only now am I doing the first (non-tutorial) main mission. Lol
Crazy thing is that I still have side stuff I could be doing, but I think I've put off the main draw long enough. Time to see if this is more than just a nice open world to run around in.
Yesterday's news about Jacob Geller broke my heart, so much that I couldn't stop dwelling on it all day. In an effort to make sense of this horrific news and my admittedly complicated feelings about it, here is my article on the Jacob Geller situation:
epiloguegaming.com/what-do-we-d...
Reflecting on the Resident Evil movie, and a thematic takeaway that's sticking with me with me is that it posits that no matter how insecure and incompetent you feel, you will never be as stupid as the people in power whose real incompetence will fuck up your life way worse than you could yourself.
Nothing more terrifying than starting up Ace Combat 8 and going to graphics settings with the expectation that everything will to be set to low only to find that it defaulted to ultra.
I have never had a game, especially one with reportedly spotty performance, do this to me.
But thankfully, it actually seems like my laptop can handle it? The cutscenes can be a bit laggy here and there (understandably so), but I made it through the first mission without issue.
Jacob Geller is no longer a part of MinnMax. He won't be on content moving forward and we won't be publicly airing this week's episode of The MinnMax Show. We're in shock and deeply hurt. Thank you for your patience during this sensitive time.
Thirty hours into Control Resonant, I've finally explored every little bit of the world available to me and am forced to continue the main story.
I'm 100% overpowered now, but exploring was so fun, and I can't wait to see what else this game's got up its sleeve. (I'm sure there's still a ton left.)
Ahead of Ace Combat 8's release, I feel like my potentially blasphemous ranking of the series (that I've played) is:
Five > Four > Six > Zero > Seven
which feels kinda nuts to write out but also the delta between the first and last on that list is tiny.
Not going to post about this game too much because it'd be way too easy to accidentally spoil something, but the first two or three hours I've played of Control Resonant so far have been magnificent. At least for right now, this game is everything I wanted it to be.
