Yesterday I made a โ€œplaythingโ€ for Igarashi et al.โ€™s excellent SIGGRAPH 2005 paper, As-Rigid-As-Possible Shape Manipulation! Works with a mouse, but itโ€™s much more fun with multi-touch on an iPad. Link below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Collaborative structured editor with multiple notations, drag and drop and time traveling? Tutuca: I don't see why not PS: Time traveling is just another sync engine

In the demo, I show how components, and even entire applications, can be composed dynamically and recursively, without glue code, while preserving their synchronization capabilities.

Everyoneโ€™s seen the Sketchpad demo. Few understand how it actually works. I reimplemented Sketchpad from scratch, and Iโ€™m making short videos that recreate Sutherlandโ€™s demos and explain how they work. The first 8 are up โ€” from drawing a line to the famous rivet. Link below ๐Ÿ‘‡

new iteration: 1000 lines

During tutuca's development I noticed the codebase hovered around 3000 lines, for fun I decided to keep it at that level while avoiding certain kind of code golfing tricks It's impressive the amount of ideas to simplify the code and reduce duplication that came up trying to keep it at that size

I'm working on this. We're trying to build a developer preview of wasm components running in Firefox, along with getting good docs and toolchain support so that people can try it out easily. Should have more details later this year!

I've always hated that mainstream languages don't have macros as powerful as lisp macros. So I'm doing my small part to fix that. First an argument why we need them. jimmyhmiller.com/change-our-l... Second a library to add them to typescript sweetener-ts.github.io

jimmyhmiller.comWe Should be Able to Change our Languages โ€” Jimmy MillerIt's time we stopped treating languages as sacred fixed objects. We need now, more than ever, languages we can change.

duck-jev: Describe the query in natural language, jev selects the dataset, the table, classifies the columns and builds the query step by step. You only get asked when it is unsure FAQ: Q: Does it *really* work? A: I don't know, it was a fun exploration
