People with lived experience are asked to share their stories but are often excluded from policy decisions. We call on all decision makers to move from listening to action & build mental health systems with people who live with mental health conditions, not merely for them. #WorldMentalHealthDay

I considered not posting this, given some of the things I said in the piece. So I went to bed, slept on it, woke up, and realized that no, this is what I believe.

We see disabled people every week at @trusselluk.bsky.social food banks struggling to afford food, other essentials, to run vital medical equipment. For many PIP is the difference between surviving, working & part of their community vs being hungry, isolated & more unwell. See below...

Ok, some thoughts, as an olde tyme academic, on the Arday tragedy. First, allegations about causes. We don't know what was in his mind, but many people are keen to blame him, or woke lefties/academia, or the media. Some people are absolutely certain that the media are faultless. 1/

What you're saying when you say "DEI" when universities say "EDI" (as happens here) and vice versa. And why it actually matters. The great majority of UK (esp. British) universities use "EDI" while US universities use "DEI". Is that "just" semantic, or does it matter? A thread. 🧵1/8

@lukecharters.bsky.social I have signed this petition. Government services should be accessible to all in a manner that does not impose unnecessary risk or burden on the citizens.

Small business owner or sole trader? Annoyed that gov has thrown you to the private markets in order to meet your statutory obligations? It should be the case if gov creates a statutory digital obligation that there is government software to meet it. Tell them so.

Social media makes you sterile and doom scrolling is a prophylactic. This impressive FT article skewers all the popular platitudes of population decline with graphs and data. Correlation is not causation but the explanations for why smartphones frustrate fecundity are plausible as are the solutions
