Bored, so I thought I'd 🧵 my #DoctorWho and professional #library, knowledge management, records management and book related passions together, and chart the occurrences they appear in the time travelling programme. No doubt I've missed some, so please let me know.

@tobyhadoke.bsky.social Hi Toby, hope you are well. I feel I've missed an announcement, but did I see someone say you have a second Quatermass book on the way? Thoroughly enjoyed the first - are you working your way through then all? About to listen to your Remembering Nigel Kneale Radio 4 Extra.

A very enjoyable event. Peter Serafinowicz extremely entertaining (his Paul McCartney story hilarious), but Doon Mackichan a more interesting interviewee, about her early career battles against the patriarchy, and it seems, a lot of time spent in basements improvising! Both, titans of modern comedy.

Looking forward to this already in October the-space.uk/event/interv...

Bad news: the BBC is set to scrap Radio 4 Extra. 📻 Losing this treasure trove of classic comedy, archive drama, and timeless storytelling would be a huge blow for millions of us. Sign the petition to help save it 👇 you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

I've now finished my Alexei Sayle rewatch. There's no doubt Stuff is the best series. I remember the Bobby Chariot and Stephen Lewis sketches from the All New Show (but may have made one up in my mind). But I have no recollection of the darker Merry Go Round series at all (tho I must've watched it.)

Alexei Sayle's Stuff (19th October 1989). A lot more work goes into the production of each episode of Stuff than you might expect.

I actually don't think this is the worst song at a wedding reception, but a work colleague who has recently tied the knot, he and his new missus compiled their own reception playlist of bands they'd seen together. Great for them, but their gran was perturbed by the inclusion of Slipknot!

This post is unavailable.

Having seen it recently through my rewatch of The All New Alexei Sayle Show, this brings to mind the sketch for Every Song Ever Recorded available in one collection.

Do you like the concept of music more than actually listening to it based on genre, quality, artists etc? Why not buy this! Compact and perfect for people who literally cannot be fucking arsed caring anymore. townsendmusic.store/product/now-...

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

Drunk In Time is the best sci fi series ever made, obviously.

Pleased to see that all episodes of both The All New Alexei Sayle Show and Alexei Sayle's Merry-go-Round are on YouTube, so I know what I'll be doing over the next few weeks. I don't think either series have ever had a DVD release?

SAVE IT! I'm sure if they pointed out that David Bowie once saw Paint Your Wagon there in 1970, that would stop closure. (I also used to go there all the time but doubt my name would have as much sway.) BBC News - Campaigners try to save Beckenham's Art Deco Odeon www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I have always loved Alexei Sayle's Stuff from the day it was first transmitted. Currently on a rewatch I can't help thinking that for all its 'alternative comedy' just how... Pythonesque it all is.

I'm listening to Death Comes To Time for the first time. It's... different... isn't it?

Mark Faulkner@markfaulkner24.bsky.social

What have I done? I shouldn't have alcohol as drunk purchases happen. I've just bought a copy of Death Comes To Time. (I seem to be working my way through questionable Doctor Who audios as I'm currently listening to Ghosts Of N-Space.)

Ok, I might have been a bit hasty to judge the new Fat Dog album. While there are slower tracks, there are also a good few trademark smashers. But I maintain for the time being that Adult DVD are this year's Fat Dog. #DownWithTheKidz
