Met Liberty Bibberty at a charity event a while back. Super humble. Incredibly funny. Did you know he's a SUNY Binghamton grad? Huge football fan though.

In a major divergence in strategy, Walmart will enable for AI agents to shop on behalf of customers while Amazon blocks them. Walmart wants the sales, regardless of who brings the customer. Amazon wants to avoid losing control of product discovery and the advertising revenue that comes with it.

Remember how a certain Web site basically proclaimed the Arc browser as the second coming? I never really liked it, and I can't say I'll miss it. www.pcworld.com/article/2319... And I have no idea why whoever was editing that day called Arc "beloved". I didn't. www.pcworld.com/article/2795... RIP.

Microsoft's Surface Laptop Ultra is a laptop, an AI workstation, and a decent gaming laptop all in one. I divided up my long review comparing it to Arm laptops (and the Mac) and asked, do we need this if gaming laptops exist? It's long and nerdy. I hope you enjoy. www.pcworld.com/article/3258...

Nvidia paid the most, $25 million, to find Trump's ballroom, an amount that that company wished to remain anonymous. Apple contributed another $25M, while Microsoft paid $10M. Puts all the RTX Spark and Apple smart-home news this week in a different light. www.washingtonpost.com/investigatio...

Q: You had some harsh words for Microsoft at the job of your speech, so why is Trump today awarding the nation's top tech medal to Microsoft's CEO? JD VANCE: Microsoft is a great American company. They also laid off 6,000 Americans workers while replacing them with 6,300 H-1Bs.

The one key feature that Microsoft isn't divulging about its new AI laptop, the Surface Book Ultra, is battery life. And if people are going to be churning through AI tokens locally, in "airplane mode," on airplanes!...that matters. www.pcworld.com/article/3255...

Microsoft has several "energy recommendations" to reduce power and maximize battery life within Windows. You can turn them on with one click... so I did some testing. I was shocked at how well they worked! www.pcworld.com/article/3245...

One, this hilariously outs who all got the talking points in advance and how blatantly they parrot those. Two, Schmitt really thought today he'd launch himself to the VP nomination and with that a decent shot at the presidency down the line. Instead this is the only thing he'll be remembered for.

If you want to really know how the outrage machine gets fired up: 1. Schmitt plans to drop “bombshell” on Smith 2. Someone plants story that Schmitt is a Vance VP contender to run same day 3. Right-wing Twittersphere gets talking points 4. Schmitt steps in it 5. Scheduled tweets go out anyway

I lived in Silicon Valley during my post-college "I'm poor and trying to make it" dating years and even the rich dot-com people I met seemed okay, just crazy wealthy. What it is now (or at least what makes the news) is beyond words.

The bizarre culture that’s sprung up around Silicon Valley AI companies - which overlaps hugely with rationalist and effective altruist circles - appears to be seriously pressuring some women into attending sex parties for the sake of networking. This is, needless to say, horrifying.
