Hard to overstate how angry Canadians are at Trump over these ridiculous tariffs. The United States has emitted the most carbon pollution in world history. It has caused these climate-driven wildfires. Oh and American air pollution routinely drifts into Canada. What utter bullshit.

Ilhan Omar: "He's always been a racist, bigot, xenophobic, & Islamophobic. We know that he called African nations 'shit holes' during his first administration ... most of us are citizens. We love that Minnesota has welcomed us ... we are going to be here regardless of what the president has to say."

unilaterally demolishing the “People’s House” and replacing it with a faux Palace of Versailles named after himself is base and obscene in such an obvious way

A picture worth 1,000 votes? The photos of a demolished White House wing and landscape could be breaking through in ways other things haven’t. An iconic part of U.S. history razed to build a ballroom for the hugely rich? Nothing could be more attention-getting or less subtle, in words or visuals.

AOC: We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was. A man who believed that the civil rights act that granted black Americans the right to vote was a mistake… His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.

AOC: All in the name of Charlie Kirk, Trump and the FCC are now cynically threatening to shut down ABC and any outlets who give air time to the administration's political critics. This is a disgusting attack on the American people and the very first amendment rights that define us as a country.

If you concede that Tyler Robinson has "unleashed" something, then you will make him feel very fulfilled and accomplished

My heart goes out to her, but this is an irresponsible thing to say. Who are the “evildoers” who killed her husband? Who is the “they?” A 22yr old man from Utah shot & killed her husband. We don’t yet know why. Anyone using “they,” as in they” killed Charlie, is inciting division & hate. It’s wrong.

Opponents of President Trump's D.C. crackdown are embracing impromptu demonstrations, including ringing bells in the masked faces of law enforcement, warning drivers about ICE checkpoints and recording arrest to build consensus — and momentum.

washingtonpost.comResistance to Trump’s D.C. crackdown is taking many formsResidents want solutions to crime, but many who live here say aggressive federal law enforcement tactics threaten civil rights and instill a sense of fear, not safety.

President Trump is leveraging his role as commander-in-chief in a much clearer and more urgent way than during his first term — whether that’s showing off the military in a parade or using it to quell protests.

So therefore the court finds that she does not pose danger to community or present risk of flight. THE COURT ORDERS THE GOVERNMENT TO RELEASE OZTURK FROM CUSTODY IMMEDIATELY. "Ms. Ozturk is free to return to her home in Massachusetts."

Dear Canada 🇨🇦 we love you and are proud to have you as our ally to the north. Stay exactly as you are. Trump’s nonsense about merging with the USA is absurd and doesn’t speak for us.

Scanlon: The Gulf of Mexico was so named over 500 years ago. If we want to update that name to reflect our current culture, maybe we should call it the Sea of Emoluments—you know, the place where we can board the Ship of Fools and navigate from a State of Ignorance to the Confederacy of Dunces…

Marriott’s CEO said it straight: “We welcome all… we create opportunities for all… that’s who we are as a company.” He went back to his hotel to find 40K emails from Marriott associates worldwide saying “thank you.” Plenty of CEOs talk. Capuano showed up. Marriott still has my business.

Among all the Trump nightmares we are living in right now, this is or should be the most terrifying. How can we get the HANDS OFF people to organize mass demonstrations across the country. “NO DEPORTATIONS TO TORTURE PRISONS”. or NO DEPORTATIONS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS”

Tomorrow’s going to be a good stress test of the press. El Salvadoran President Bukele will visit the White House. At the press availability, every Q ought to be about Abrego Garcia: where is he now? Did US ask you to return him? etc. WH will hate, maybe try to prevent, so all should band together.

The dollar crashing is great news for all of us Brits who've found the US unaffordable since Brexit, except when we try to visit we're going to be turned away at the border because we liked a tweet saying slavery was bad
