On this, we crunched the numbers on what the Green Belt is made up of, based on our own (urban) form and function classification (urbangrammarai.xyz/story/). Results (+ code) over at: urbangrammarai.xyz/green_belts_... The gist is there are different "shades of green", some of them not very green.

Lots of discussion on greenbelt today ahead of new #NPPF. - Greenbelt covers 12.6% of England, compared with just 1.3% used for housing (6.2% if you include gardens) - There's no greenbelt in the south west or East Anglia (beyond Cambridge). researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN...

Today was the first time I’ve used #Pixi to manage students' Python environments and I must say, compared to last year's Conda, it was a breeze. The only issue was caused by Avast Antivirus, which removes python.exe from the environment thinking it is a virus :). For, reasons, you know. #python

The teaching started today with a session aimed at Python environment installation (using Pixi) and general setup. Only to find out that wifi on campus is down 🙃. I’m all for improvisation but I’d be happier without this one 😂. What a start of the term.

Some time ago I've moved my activity primarily to Mastodon (and I love it!) but it feels that only part of my network has moved there. So, here I am for the other one! Expect stuff primarily about cities and open source for spatial data science. #intro

You are up to date.
