I wrote this quickly at a bus stop and didn't realize it would go viral, or else I would have worded it better. But the point is that the media is too credulous about AI killing everyone in 10 years (how?) when climate change is killing people now and will only get worse (we know exactly how).
I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

Zero critical thinking skills man its genuinely so impressive you could write the book on how to be dumb as fuck its insane
It makes sense that progressives would care about it; I care about it. It makes less sense that it has become the sole measure by which a lot of people decide their political support.

it's fun to see the few occasions where this guy finally feels brave enough to stake a clear position. this platner guy? i feel i can now stake a (~)definitive position. gaza "genocide" (some say it is, others dispute) still assessing, can't say much with certainty about its goodness (or vice versa)

Adam Bojak wins as an unapologetic democratic socialist in upstate New York! For years pundits told us our vision for New York would never resonate outside of NYC and downstate… @bojak4assembly.bsky.social proves them ALL wrong. This is a movement for ALL working people, no matter your zip code 🌹

IGN - 'The Steam Machine Was Originally Meant to Cost About $750' based on Valve saying the increase was "probably similar" to price increase that the Steam Deck experienced last month (article incorrectly says Steam Machine increase last month, I assume they mean Deck) www.ign.com/articles/the...

The U.S. government handed a 3-year-old to an abuser to torture him to death, and then his mother was allotted one hour for his funeral.
After ICE deported Wendy Hernandez Reyes, it turned her 3-year-old son Orlin over to her sister’s estranged partner, who tortured Orlin and beat him to death. I can’t say what I think should happen to those responsible without violating this website’s TOS. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

I genuinely think some people do not want to look this in the eye/think about it because it is so awful. We wrote what I thought was a pretty eye-opening story about all this and I was surprised by the lack of engagement tbh
Still feel like "Musk and his crew of incels destroyed a bunch of stuff they didn't understand and thereby hastened the deaths of millions of children" did not get the public attention it warranted.
