Seeing some renewed concerns about this FCC action and potential for significant, bad regressions on various firmwares. Kal of Valleytech Custom Solutions seems to be concerned about it, and I trust his instincts on the matter.

Per the thread, "... the FCC issued ... (91 FR 57798) on 9/11 titled "Protecting Against National Security Threats to the Communications Supply Chain Through the Equipment Authorization Program". It requires an FCC ID on imported gear to "protect" us. It becomes active on Oct 13." That's tomorrow.

Increased viewing distance and full A-Life simulation are now apparently present within the game. Good show! Seemed as though that was missing from the original release so now the game should be significantly more like a STALKER title as people know them to be. More is yet to come, though.

It bears repeating that STALKER 2 is the game now that it should have been at launch. No shade on the devs either, they were (and still are) working in an active warzone. The v2.0 overhaul got it 95% of the way there. This update hammers out the last major gripe most had. From here, it's all good.

"arabs have contributed nothing to the arts and sciences" is such a funny fucking thing for a bog ape wearing a little suit to say

Ah, I could rekindle my fiery hatred for the Backlash. Some of those mid-game Backlash levels are impossible, or at least I am convinced of as much. Then again, I'm older now. Maybe I'd be better at the game.

Steven Ogg has a very unique look about him. It's an odd face, his; I find him refreshing though. An actor actually embracing his baldness is rare in this era and I respect it.

Folding phones are one of those concepts that should have died off immediately. Without fully self-healing metamaterial plastics there's no way in Hell those devices can last and by all accounts it would appear that either nobody knows how to make any that are suitable or they can't do it at scale.

Apple making a folding phone was always gonna end with stories of it breaking because their QC is always interogtated aggressively and because folding phones are like a dog thatโ€™s so inbred it canโ€™t breathe normally.

Holy fucking shit. Getting an ad on Twitch I hadn't paid attention to up until now but it's for a Creationist theme park. What the fuck?! How the fuck they out here thinking I'm the audience for that?! Granted, I guess it beats anti-vape PSAs.

If you don't start a podcast you can't be bafflingly tempted to cheat on your wife with some tart of uncertain relationship to the whole process--I don't really know, I've never known those people as anything but sniveling, whiny chuds and it blows my mind that they were ever popular for anything.

I'm right here with HBomberguy on this one, with the exception that I don't think I need an explanation. I will simply assume that these people are irrelevant and that no meaningful logic can be attributed to their rise. bsky.app/profile/hbom...

I don't understand why people ever watched the H3 podcast. Like none of these people are funny or likeable, and they don't even seem to like each other. Someone is going to have to explain what made any of this compelling

I have concluded that I am quite fond of the band Magdalena Bay. They write some good songs. Lead singer has a very nice voice and they're not afraid to go plink plonk ding dong on some synths. Good stuff!

I did not trouble my Mother with those observations, but I did Shazam a song while we were in there so I can't say I didn't bring that upon myself in some capacity. It's easy to poke an invisible lion idly without thinking about it. Have an invention in mind relating to this.

I am also quite certain that the music in that restaurant changes depending on iBeacon pings. I don't think Bronski Beat just plays in a restaurant as part of an arbitrary, pre-set Playlist. Outback is big enough to afford that sort of background tech for ambiance and appeal.

The hostess asked me many questions. While I don't mind per se I'm also not accustomed to being asked a lot of questions about myself. I view this as one of three things: 1) She was paid to gather data on me. Unlikely. 2) She was flirting with me. I dunno why someone would do that though.

3) Outback has decided to institute a Trader Joe's-like policy of being overly familiar with the customer. Hope not. None of these options make much sense. Anyway, she was nice enough that I shall do her the favor of not poisoning her life in a romantic capacity (in the event it was option 2).

Just sitting here thinking about how this Pi Zero 2W that has been Maloney on my desk waiting for me to return to it debatably doubled in value since I built it. Gotta get my nut up and polish this turd into a finished project. In theory I think I can figure out the whole caddy business now.

Yes, I remember being totally enthralled when I reached this point. Furthermore, in a soundtrack lacking so much as a single bad song and many truly great ones, this one is still transcendent. One of the greatest zeniths of RPG music in general. It's what really sells Zeal as an amazing place.

From a world of ice to lush green through Corridors of Time <3 Still one of the most magical moments I've ever experienced in a video game. Been a long time since I last reached this far into CT. When this fired up in my first playthrough in ZSNES, I'm sure I just stood and soaked it for a while.

Ankles seem to be limbering up and strengthening from sitting around in my slides instead of the medical boots. I'm not supposed to be out of the boots yet but frankly I think I prefer being in the slides and able to move my feet around a bit.
