We're thrilled to partner with Agitator Gallery for our next event: www.agitatorgallery.com/calendar/dea...

Today is a good day to buy my first poetry collection from @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social. 🤘🏼

This is scary: you can't splurge on #Halloween because everything except your labor is so expensive. So we'll offer two free events, one in person on 10/18 and one via zoom on 10/27. We'll have #poetry #horror #gothrock and #openmic. More soon. Stay defiant!

We're tabling! Small Press tent, 9/12-9/13 10am to 6pm. Peddling everyone's books, giving away propaganda. Cannot wait! printersrowlitfest.org

I love Rust & Moth, and I'm thrilled to have a poem in their autumn '26 issue! It's another from my forthcoming book, Beginning to Sense (@matchfactoryeds.bsky.social, early 2027).

Hey #SealeyChallenge, I'd be honored if you included my poetry book in your August readings! You'd also be supporting a kickass new press, @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social, & if you buy it through the NWP @bookshop.org page, you're ALSO supporting the best teacher network!

"My hand’s reflection is a barrel of French oak, / and the lines of my palm are rivers." Happy birthday, Chad! matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Record...

Oh hey -- it's almost August! That means the #sealeychallenge is right around the corner. My book, It's Easy to Lose Your Breath" is the perfect size for one of your days. Get it now (& so many other great titles) on the @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social website. matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Its-Ea...

If you love poetry and Jeopardy!, you already love Chad Heltzel. Here's a video of his book launch (on 9/20/25). Shot by Nicolas Garcia, edited by me, Sneža, and even though it took me a long time to do it, I finally posted it. Feast your ears and eyes. youtu.be/IpPkK2WsjCI?...

Our own Dawn Tefft is one of the 7 selected for the open mic portion of the event. Let's go! facebook.com/events/s/car...

I'm thrilled that @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social is publishing my second poetry collection, Beginning to Sense, in early 2027! My first poetry collection (aka TSOTHOIEETTT) is available at the usual spots.

The spaceship takes off tomorrow! matchfactoryeditions.com/book-launch-...

Shout-out to my local indie bookstore and to @mrdecember.bsky.social & @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social! (I spy @britrogers.bsky.social's killer book there too.)

Reminder -- I'm taking part in a reading with three other writers on Thursday! Now's your chance to register. Hope to see you there! :-)

Paul Martínez Pompa and I have a new co-written poem, “the politics follow me” in engine(idling @paulmartinezpompa.bsky.social @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social @the-engine-idling.bsky.social

I finished Carma's book this weekend and loved it! With its mix of speculative fiction & poetry, it's a cool addition to the @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social catalogue.

Oh hey - guess what? My book launch is now viewable on YouTube! What better time than this little heat wave to stay inside, kick back with a cold drink, and enjoy a few poems. :-) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icyr...

Kevin's Zoom launch is now on our YouTube channel. Enjoy! youtu.be/IcyrEXy0TnQ?...

@carmalynnpark.bsky.social is a model literary citizen. She reads and supports fellow writers without expectations for anyone to return the favor. We grumble about the biz while she takes the shenanigans in balletic stride.🧑‍🩰https://matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Through-the-Bronze-Mirror-p798269294

Maybe I'm biased, but everything @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social has put out is amazing. Honestly, even if they weren't my publisher I'd be impressed by this new press. Plus, the house cover design is cool as hell.

Thank you, readers, booksellers, and libraries! It would be very awkward for us if you weren't out there!

After a few days away, I’m back home to unbox my books! Thank you to my wife, Mary, for doing an impromptu photo shoot & videoing me opening my briefcase of books! Yes. I’m wearing a The National shirt. Are you surprised? 😂 Thanks again to @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social! The book looks amazing!

Hello! We're with Carma Lynn Park and Kevin A. Risner today again. Each in their own way, they experiment with speculative poems. They are wild. matchfactoryeditions.com/books/

From "A sixth extinction has come" to "what will my breath hold / if I hold it too long?" Get a copy of Kevin A. Risner's debut poetry collection and read how we get from there to there! matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Its-Ea...

A year ago, reading a manuscript, I kept forgetting it was a manuscript. I was transported from the 1st sentence: "I had come in the shuttle with no return ticket." Go see what's on the other side of the bronze mirror! matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Throug...

Our first and likely only speculative fiction title, yet it's also our 8th poetry title. Find out what happens on the other side of the bronze mirror!

Today is Publication Day! My book "Through the Bronze Mirror" is officially out! I'm deeply grateful to publisher @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social and editors RD Morgan and Snežana Žabić. The book offers speculative poems AND short stories that I wrote over the past (mumble, mumble) years.

Another poem to share with you all from my soon-to-be-out collection thru @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social! This time it's a prose poem published in @somewordslit.bsky.social. Huge props to @juscarts.com for starting this fun little online messageboard-y space. :-) somewords.boards.net/thread/16/ke...

You know I had to do this. Here's a playlist that complements "It's Easy To Lose Your Breath" @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social. I think it's a pretty nice encapsulation of the poems, as well as that first pandemic year. (And some of the poems are directly inspired by some of the songs!)

Hey sports & poetry fans, this series is a @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social roster throwdown! My beloved Detroit Pistons v. @mrdecember.bsky.social's Cleveland Cavaliers. Pre-order Kevin's books to help him feel better after Detroit wins tonight! 😁 matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Its-Ea...

Gaze upon this cover! Read about the book! Preorder Kevin A. Risner's It's Easy To Lose Your Breath now or as soon as you scrape up a few bucks. matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Its-Ea...

A cento I put together out of fragments of my poetry students' end-of-semester reflection essays. For all but one, it was their first time trying poetry.

First poem I'll be sharing from "It's Easy to Lose Your Breath" is "After the Start of Summer", which you can find at @moistpoetryjournal.bsky.social. There's also a short author's note. Thank you to @hanvanderhart.bsky.social and all the other editors for including this poem!

Paul Martínez Pompa @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social

Order #ExpoContributor @mitchnobis.bsky.social’s poetry collection THE SIZE OF THE HORIZON, OR I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO THE TREES (@matchfactoryeds.bsky.social) on parenthood from our #ExpoContributor @bookshop.org: bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

Yeah! Listen to 'em! Get it from their Bookshop and support @expositionreview.bsky.social & @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social at once! Hell yeah!

The last couple readings I did were at bookstores that were well prepared, which is very cool but also means I didn't need backup copies to sell & now have extras. Anyone want to buy my book straight from me? If yes, DM for Venmo, where to mail, etc.!

Oh, by the way, this poem's in my upcoming book "It's Easy To Lose Your Breath"! You should all pre-order it today if you haven't yet ;-) @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social matchfactoryeditions.com/books/Its-Ea...
