Check this out if you want to read a bunch of ex-journalists' thoughts on the current (gestures to the smoking crater) state of things, and also me being very very nostalgic about the games magazine era
When losing a job means losing a career: what comes next for laid off games journalists? aftermath.site/aftermath-game...
Read the story years ago. These final panels to the very end of the issue really feel like you were slowly leading into the point where Superhero comics (and Spider-Man) changed forever. It must have been INSANE reading this in 1973, then realizing you have to wait for the next issue.
JG Jones - homaging the work of Gerry Conway, Gil Kane, John Romita, and Tony Mortellaro in Amazing Spider-Man 121 (1973), on the cover of The Death of Gwen Stacy trade paperback (second printing, 2001).

This isn’t doomerism, nor an argument against voting or fighting GOP voter suppression. Voting can materially improve lives, or at least keep them from getting worse. So please, vote. But don’t mistake the temporary relief of winning an election for the work of building a better world.
News to me. This is a cause for concern for all that use META platforms, not just publishers.
Publishers have been urged to delete Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram accounts before a T&Cs change kicks in. 'Shameless land grab' would see Meta claim AI rights for everything publishers produce (whether it is on Meta platforms or not). pressgazette.co.uk/news/faceboo...

I'm telling you dude it's the age of loser dipshits. This whole tech sector, from the chatbots to the art generation to the voices, is built on this idea that being good at stuff is stupid and lame and somehow by not getting to enjoy the same praise skilled people do you are being denied or slighted
The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

For a while, I brought up the fact that George Carlin narrated for Thomas The Tank Engine to my Boomer/GenX Dad and his wife. Which is funny for me, because my dad has been a conservative, right-wing Christian for all of MY adult life. I don’t bring it up anymore because I cut him out of my life.
We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.
