Scottish. Like coding, gaming, sci-fi, politics. [Edit: Just realised what this says:: Coding is Scottish, Gaming is Scottish, Sci-Fi is Scottish & Politics is Scottish.] AmIrite? The status of the enemy of my enemy is as yet, undecided.

Dear USA, You have the chance to get rid of these fuckwits. If you do not, what little trust the world has left for you will be gone forever.

Not going to happen. I don't believe in any of that nonsense. God would have to appear to me in way that I could not explain & educate me directly. Otherwise I will continue to believe that anyone who exhibits belief behaviours should not be trusted with anything more responsible than the tv remote.

The reason movies like War Games & The Terminator have been so much fun to watch over a long span of time is because they're a bit in the past & a bit in the future. We are very close to the point where they are no longer fun to watch because we didn't learn that the only way to win is not to play.

I'm really annoyed about the recent PHP shenanigans because for the first time in almost 30 years, I had ticked all the security boxes but I had one stubborn script that I needed to update to get to PHP8.latest and I drank heavily instead. They were right, drinking heavily always ends badly.

I would like to say thanks to the open source community. You are my mentors, my saviours and my inspiration. My hope, before I die, is that I write something that other people tell me that I am now part of that community. Even if it's just a clock.

Sometimes, I just want to be alone with my tinnitus. It's become a point of focus and helps me rid my brain of all the other noise.

I'd just like to say to all the people of the world that I have not met, "I'm sorry I didn't meet you sooner". And to all the people I have met, "I'm sorry I didn't meet you sooner". I would love to have had more time with everyone but I just don't like people being a part of my day.

The other day at work we were discussing people who take a lot of sick time and it occurred to me that I've only had half of one shift listed as sick in the last 15 years. My mother died halfway through a shift and they didn't know how to code it. It's not that I don't ever get sick but ...

at the drop of a hat but one day I overheard some of my coworkers complaining about how behind the work was because of me. I've had the flu once in the last 10 years, not a 2 day flu but an 11 day trip to hell and back. Guess what?

My body agrees with me and that happened for my pre booked holiday time, 2 days build up at work and then 9 days in bed during my paid holiday time. It happens so often that when my coworkers hear I have booked time off they tell me they hope it's for a trip away rather than me being sick or injured

I'd rather be working while sick than at home sick and just as miserable. People tell me that this is a selfish attitude. But my coworkers did not have to pick up all of my work while I was sick and I do make sure I'm not a human petri dish while at work. Now, I used to call in sick...

So us GenXrs will eat Marzipan and not blink. How far down the generations do you have to go where none of the kids will eat it for any reason? Bonus question, why did we?

I've worked out what I like about Prime Minister Mark Carney. He always looks like he got out of bed 15 minutes ago, threw a suit on and a comb through his hair and stepped in front of the camera. Then, he is sharp as a tack. An entire career saying difficult things to difficult rooms was worth it.

Been watching Mona Kimura clips and she is bloody brilliant. It's like she has three punching limbs. 2 jabs and a deadly cross. She's not even fast, she is committed to hitting her target and she does over and over. if I walked on your face with my normal step but I never missed your face, ever.

If someone sees me at the gym for 18 weeks straight, I am probably preparing to do someone in. If someone sees me in the pool for 48 weeks straight, I am probably preparing to go to the gym. If someone sees me out for a walk on a regular basis, I'm probably preparing to go to the pool. Plan Ahead!!!

You should know that to make a friend of your cat, you pick them up by the elbows pull them up to your face, smell them (a couple of times) and then tell them you love them.

I'm at a crossroads. When you find a content creator that thinks like you do and has the same values, should you follow them or should you let other people follow them? Does my liking them affect any other person in the world?

Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace. Wednesday's child is full of woe, Thursday's child has far to go. Friday's child is loving and giving, Saturday's child works hard for a living. But the child that is born on Sabbath day, Is bonny and blithe, good and gay.
