The new voices in @instapaper.com are really good. Very pleasant to listen to; especially on long articles. I’ve never been a big user of text-2-speech because the quality has been too low. Now I can actually listen to long form text content. I believe in a new era for text with these advances!

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

Pit of despair in an product initative is horrible. That place when you question everything about what we are building. It's only experience that keeps you going. Knowingf this happens every time. Knowing it will all be ok (mostly).

Product work in the age of AI Me: ”We are ready for release, can you just fix this last piece based on customer feedback” Dev: ”Sure” … Dev: ”Fixed it. I also re-did all the UI. Added a new filter thing and you can now play snake inside the app.” Me: 👀

Met up with someone I used to work with almost 20 years ago yesterday. Back then we were both devs. Now they work in Security and I work with People and org. I discovered we do not share the same references and culture. What is an obvious for them was unknown to me, and vice versa.

Sjukt bra underlag för samtal. Kommer definitivt komma till nytt.

The older I get the more time I spend on formulating good goals/targets. Young me absolutley hated goals - mostly because the people I worked with set really bad goals. I try to do better.

I have no clue where my 8yo heard about pen and paper roleplaying games but when they asked to play I was happy to accommodate.

There are two wolves. One always lies. One controls the lever of trolley track. They're in a state of superposition inside a box. On the trolley are infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters going to an infinite hotel. The trolley must first travel halfway, but before that a quarterway, and so on...

My kids have run out of things to fight about. So they make up words and fight about the made up words. I’m sure they have a bright future in politics or business.

Here is actually something an LLM would solve flawlessly…

I can imagine an AI Donny that would never shut up and just go on tangents far removed from the original question.

I wish someone had this talk with me. Thankfully Blizzard ruined the game for me with Mists of Pandaria and I was able to get out. Got sucked back into classic for a while but by that time I had kids - so it didn’t seam that ”important” anymore. Kids! Don’t do MMOs

If this is what actually happened, it’s hilarious. If it’s a bit, it’s also pretty funny.

Not a great economy alert! Wall Street Bets users think Palantir spiked today because The Onion story titled “Palantir Acquires Pentagon for $800 Billion” hit their front page. They’re guessing trading bots indexed the top post on the subreddit reddit not understanding source.

”Automaker Ford is one of the latest companies to reverse course. It is reportedly re-employing hundreds of experienced human engineers to work on quality issues automated systems couldn’t address.” 🙄 who could have seen that coming!

Some things I use LLMs for are things I always found too dumb to delegate. Things I've found emerassing to ask other humans to do becuase it was so trivial. I have zero qualms with letting an LLM chew through those tasks.

I’ve been doing back-to-back conferences and workshops. Still have an online event to speak at today as I’m coming down with a cold.
