hi! ty @kate.wtrkt.xyz for inviting me forever ago, sry i took so long to actually join in
i'm a queer musician, programmer, philosopher, mental health advocate, lover
i've been out & part of my local community for a while, but very new to taking part in social media (thanks, social perfectionism)
Love that some execs are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and yet still need to do studies to determine that teaching people how to do their jobs well makes them better at doing their jobs.

Employers worldwide are pulling back on AI as they navigate a flood of errors and low-quality work that sap employee time, raise privacy and security risks, and drive up costs
hey guys i got my flu & covid shots today and my arms are really sore and im struggling to take my shirt & bra off myself soooo...
... anyone wanna help me strip??
capitalist forces are backing the big AI companies into a corner, and the only two ways out are:
- technological revolution that reroutes massive swathes of the economy out of knowledge worker salary and into AI
- bankruptcy
in other words, if the bubble *is* going to pop, it's getting there.
the point is that "cost per token" is decreasing, so thus with Jevon's Paradox, usage (left) is going *up* while revenue (right) remains mostly flat.
this chart says nothing about supply costs, quality, or social impact.
for a well-researched examination of what this means, see my friend's blog:
‘This slowdown has been unusually stubborn. We’ve recorded two straight months of virtually no growth in token spend. The main driver is price declines at the frontier, in addition to efficiency and quality improvements for models across intelligence levels.‘ econlab.substack.com/p/ai-index-o...
Americano good!
particularly when my household doesn't keep milk around so a latte is inaccessible.
I might try a black tea Americano soon. I already drink a black tea most mornings, but I've been wanting some extra caffeine, and I do like the taste of espresso.
much respect for Professor Tao, but there are so so so many medical therapies that work without anyone really understanding how or why they work
one of the great things about science is that we can use empirical knowledge in practice far ahead of when theoretical frameworks catch up to refine it
thank you.
I'm concerned by the opinion that Jacob's public career is over.
if the victim's wish is for Jacob to atone and make the world better (including via making leftist content), who are we to assume otherwise?
do we force the victim to come out and give a 👍 to clear his name?
im conflicted i think. if it’s true both he and the victim went to the uni and he’s dedicated himself to being a progressive since, as well as the victim requesting privacy, that’s the best case scenario. A world where a victim receives acknowledgment and the perpetrator atones is what i wish i got

i! love! keyboard shortcuts!
i can set (caps) + (modifier key) + (space) to print the symbol for (modifier key): ␣⌘⌥⌃🌐⇧⭾⇪
now i can tell someone to go ⌘+F themselves *so easily*
y'know that thing where classical pieces end a piece by going back and forth from `V` to `I` like 10 times?
that's like the post-nut strokes trying to get every last drop of climax
i guess it makes sense people are so resistant to having agency over themselves considering that anglo culture, familial upbringing, and pedagogy is centered around control, exclusion, narcissist rage. you can't, you won't, that's not allowed, how dare you
im sorry if this offends but i believe that you are in fact capable of learning new things, improving your skills, becoming a better person, and having a happier life than you currently do.
the word "enjoy" has an interesting connection between linguistics and psychology.
like "enable" and "enmesh", it means "to make something joyful". it's not passive like "appreciate (what you have)"; it describes active action.
your life isn't restricted to one path.
so go *enjoy* your life.
so, I've ended up doing open source work on GitHub tonight. instead of my plans to work on music hobby community sysadmin stuff however, I have outlined four objections to [Salad Theory](saladtheory.github.io) and an alternative system of foodstuff ontology:
The Hold Rule
