Absolutely this!

Deciding how and when to fade scaffolds is an important consideration and one I worry we sometimes leave too late as we focus on demonstration in books/mocks as opposed to using them to identify gaps

New Post 📝 Ever been in a meeting where you are the only person who disagrees? Or a CPD session where you have to say it was worth it, even though it was a waste of time? This is groupthink. When professionals are unable to disagree, it can ruin a school. joel120193.substack.com/p/why-teache...

Another insightful and well researched thread. I highly recommend you follow Emma for her debunking.

🧵 Wow - this article is bordering on unhinged! Apparently the BBC is akin to a “North Korean re-education camp” for teaching children about net-zero and covering both the pros AND cons of immigration Join me for a masterclass in cherry-picking and context stripping to brainwash your own readers👍🏻

We have jobs. A newly created Pupil Welfare Lead, my replacement as Headteacher and Classroom Support Officers (TAs). If you want to work in a school that thinks hard about complex things and then delivers for the pupils their families and the staff who work with them, then take a look. 👇

This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...

Danny Tommo's 'patriot platform' vigilantes were refused service in The George Inn, Portsmouth. They demanded to know why, despite the fact they do not have to be given a reason. Always make bigots feel unwelcome. Show the pub some love for doing the right thing. Things you love to see ✊❤️

Bruno was only a little baby when we found him on the road just over a month ago. You won’t believe what he looks like today and the good news he’s getting. This will put a huge smile on your face! It did for me! ❤️

The latest hot news that we will definitely not be holding a press conference about is that yesterday there were by-elections in three district councils, one city council and one county council and Reform lost in all of them. Our unstoppable march to power continues.

Love this thread already!

1. Take a tour with me around the bars of Bole Road in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the late 2000s. It was a wild time and I think I'm a decent guide. This might be sporadic. If you want more encourage me! If you're in you'll need some context. That's up next.

This sounds amazing. I would be absolutely doing this if I taught Classics. Wishing I still did now!!!

Have just been told of a really *fantastic* new Classics CPD opportunity being run by the British School at Rome.

I am consiering retraining as a secondary maths teacher. Have any other primary teachers made the same transition? I am aware of the NCETM route but wanted to know how realistic it is. RTs appreciated, especially if have a network involved in teaching.

I have had my flu jab. My arm is killing me. Each time my visiting friend wants to get my attention she nudges my arm. We are trapped in an endless loop of 'Ouch!!!' followed by 'Sh*t, sorry' It is a good job I love her!!!

I think there's a distinction between assessing oracy & deciding what counts as success in the first place. Particularly for children whose communication looks different. Observation can tell us a great deal, but we still need to be careful not to mistake confidence or fluency for understanding.

When I’m tired and feel beaten by a tough day seeing dogs suffer I open my phone for inspiration and look at old photos. Sienna when I found her this time last year alone on the streets of Thailand after a life of giving puppies. Look at her now so fluffy and happy in Wales ❤️
