The US economy is about 12 times larger than the Russian economy and per capita output is six times larger. CA, NY and TX surpass Russian output. It's a minor economic country. But Trump only wants to match the scale of theft and dictatorial, oligarchic rule of Putin, the people be damned.

GOP congress is entirely responsible for EVERYTHING awful that happens. THey could stop this madness in a day. Yet, they chose not to. How is this not treason??

This is the safest, most moderate course of action that offers some prospect of de-escalation. It is the only way for Democrats. Don't do it and we're on a glide path toward brutal fascist dictatorship or civil war. This isn't going to just stop on its own.
