Hello again! We are doing introductions? I'm Dutch living in Madrid, Spain. I have been working on my own startup Nusii (online proposal software) for 10 the last 10 years. I recently started to do some temporary freelancing on the side just for fun. I like playing the drums 🥁

Userlist’s founders had a $1k onboarding fee in mind. My cohost Mariya Delano: “No, no, it needs to hurt.” She knows a one-person business that spent $20k on consulting fees alone. Smart Bear Live E11:

If I had retainer jobs for apps I would increase my rate with at least 50%. Now is the perfect time, the PHP incidents was the biggest news at the largest Dutch news site yesterday. AI can reverse engineer security incidents faster than ever. You have to stop what you are doing and react asap.

Saw the docu 'The Plastic Detox' yesterday and holy fuck. Ordered a steel Aeropress just now. Not going to add hot water into plastic twice a day anymore 😂

As a giant nerd who dislikes doing marketing I have to make it fun for me to be able to fully focus on it. These tiny details makes it fun for me. Just updated a blog post with data straight from production via Nusii's admin MCP.

Started a little side project to fix my own problem: I always find out about races near me after registration has closed. So I built 10kenlasierra.com. Every 10K in the Madrid Sierra in one place, and an email once a month with what's coming up.

Just wrote the prompt of a new hobby project! Something about finding 10k runs around where I live. Will share more when I made the decision of the domain (and actually bought it 😅)

Had a good marketing week for once! - Created 4 new email sequences - Sent 1 email broadcast - Created animations on some marketing pages - Did a Testimonial Tuesday campaign and got 35 new testimonials - Got one new G2 review - Added 6 new pages on the marketing site - Rewrote 6 alternative pages

- Connected with lots of customers via LinkedIn (feels icky) - Sent many warmish emails to recent signups to get them on a call but no luck there

A group of top-tier Rails developers I know and worked with (plus myself) were unfortunately laid off today. Any company would be fortunate to pick them up. If you or anyone you know is hiring, send me a DM 🙏

Redoing my alternative pages so doing some research on competitor. Just found out that my biggest competitor simply doesn't believe in refunds 😅

Happy Testimonial Tuesday everybody! First video testimonial in the pocket!

Is this a dumb idea? Only showing this button on a Tuesday. And only when they haven't send me a testimonial yet.

Most people cancel with “not using it anymore,” but that’s never the real reason. I’m trying to find out why they actually cancel, but I’m getting no responses. Here’s an example of an email I sent. Has anyone had success with this? Would love feedback!

I ended up, sending an automatic email 5 minutes after they canceled, so hopefully with some more luck. And a $100 offer if they take a call with me (must be churned older account for that)

The last couple of months, I’ve had trouble sleeping because AI made me more excited to work. Last week, I had enough and solved it with this stupid $5 device 🤣 I sleep from 12 to 8 and simply turn the router off at 11pm. No internet, no more fun! Sometimes simple solutions work best!

I haven't seen this mentioned often, but please make an admin MCP. It is really useful for customer support, debugging, or doing customer research. - Read the latest error from error tracker and figure out what happened - Where did last month's signups come from

- This customer has trouble setting up his domain, draft me an email on how to set it up with his domain registrar - Give me all the cancellation reasons from last month - Which types of templates were used the most last month - Show me the messages spammers sent last month

Finally did something useful with AI agents using Claude Routines: Read all my school emails. Ignore/archive anything that isn’t about my kids. Send me a daily bullet-point summary of only the important stuff. Create calendar events when needed.

It is normally not advised to give discounts or give stuff away for free but I think it is OK if they give you something back. In this case, a customer's business isn't going very well and they asked to cancel their yearly subscription.

I think this will be the final sucker punch to recent pile of spammers I get each day. Without AI it is pretty hard to determine if content is spam or not. I hope Jev is good at this 🤞

This is a recent example from yesterday. I caught it on time, as this use-case is pretty easy to programmatically block but there are so many cases where it is hard to do that programmatically but obvious as a human.

Another example, I can't block these: Hi Jane, Please find our proposal for the website redesign at <link>. The total is $4,500 and we accept PayPal. Pay the invoice within 30 days of acceptance. Regards, Anna

This summer I had a lot of trouble because of spammers signing up with stolen credit cards. Glad all the work paid off, no more spammers anymore! And soon as they managed to come in, they are blocked almost immediately 👌 And next time they try, they need a new ip, working email and credit card.

Besides it is the way non technical connect your app to Claude/ChatGPT, I think MCP's best feature is, that gives a new description every time it reconnects. So you don't have to worry about versioning. Everyone has the newest version all the time, and the agent knows how to use it constantly.
