If the stencil for the bike lane can’t fit in the bike lane without running into the gutter, your bike lane isn’t wide enough. The MUTCD doesn’t set a standard for lane width or whether the gutter included. It’s left to the traffic engineer’s judgement. We need more traffic engineers out on bikes.
