This makes me sad. Off to the final frontier Mr. Chekov.

George Takei@georgetakei.bsky.social

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

What an understatement. They don’t respect us, they don’t those currently serving, they don’t respect or protect dependents. It’s like a slap in the face when I see their pictures at the VA. And I’m a frequent flyer there. Can’t avoid their ugly mugs.

I cannot even describe the disgust I feel when I walk into the VA medical center and this shit is the first thing I see.

A stunning defeat for a Trump-aligned right-wing leader in Europe. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, whose government cultivated close ties with Donald Trump and his family, has conceded defeat to a student-led opposition movement in a historic parliamentary election.

Courts are going to need to start asserting their powers as a coequal branch of government, otherwise we will be dealing with psycho executive branch officials up and down the spectrum of government entities.

My little cutie made a unicorn costume to match her casts. She also has bunny ears so she can make one school costume with her bestie and another for trick or treating. I am renting her a wheelchair for trick or treating. She LOVES Halloween and I’m gonna ride with that joy as long as she wants.

Finally finished the yard for Halloween. Late this year, but things that used to be easy to do aren’t so much nowadays. I’m pretty happy with it, will post up pics when it gets a little darker.

I’ve been around a bit. Not as long as some, but as long or longer than most. I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve never seen an admin eff up so many things as this admin (and I came of age politically under Carter). At this point everything they say is ridiculous. Such incompetence…

This is messed up. I think I first noticed something wrong with my legs at the gym 12 years ago. 4 or 5 years ago I finally told my providers it’s not strength, something else is wrong. They didn’t believe me or listen to me. I had to get 3 physios to say it looks neurological before they listened.

I will tell you it’s hard. It’s hard physically and it’s absolutely terrifying emotionally. I used to play rugby, owned a fighting school, did yoga and worked out all the time. And then it all just stops working. And don’t even bring up the kids and worries that come with that - am I gonna be here,

Am I going to be ambulatory, etc. There aren’t answers. It is the crappiest thing a person can do to ridicule someone going through this. To hammer on Christina Applegate for Medical Science’s failings just confirms what a horrid person Megyn Kelly is. Journalism would be better off without her.

It still could be a form of Parkinsonism, it could be toxic exposure from my Navy days. What everyone is sure of is my legs and my brain don’t communicate correctly, that I fall down now, that I can’t stand, that I need mobility and stability aids, and that the treatment for all of it is the same.

For now at least. It’s surprising to me and I suspect everyone that there’s no solid answer and no magic wand to fix it. And there’s no answer for what the future holds, or maybe what’s even wrong. It’s called the practice of medicine for a reason. We do our best and sometimes answers aren’t perfect

That was a little over a year ago. Tests, checks, baffled doctors, baffled neurologist, until I got to a movement specialist who said yes, it’s a neurological problem and I *think* it’s this really rare thing with this other rare thing on top of it. It still could be MS, or develop into it.

Oh man. I’m gonna date myself. My first five RPGs played: 1. D&D 1st edition (started when the Advanced edition was released) 2. Traveller (my favorite) 3. Ogre (pocket board edition) 4. Rune Quest 5. Panzer Blitz

My first five RPGs played: 1. Lords of Creation 2. AD&D 3. 3rd edition D&D 4. GURPS 5. FATAL (it is scholarly and I ran a joke campaign which was as bad as you’d expect)

My son drew a picture of a lady who pretty unreasonably started talking crap to him. I stepped in and let her know she should shut her pie hole. She just glared at us after that. I told him don’t be a jerk, but don’t take sh!t from people like that either. Pretty accurate portrait.

It is, of course, coming. But take heart. Almost everything they’ve done violates a state level criminal statute of some sort. There are some things that are purely federal powers, but most implicate a state crime, be it assault or a financial crime. It’s just gonna take some time.

I’m the one that has to deal with spiders in my house and I need you to know that it’s absolute utter rubbish. I mean, sure I put on a brave face and LIE to everyone and act all cool like it’s no big deal. But I have the same massive heebie jeebies as any arachnaphobe out there. Now you know.

OMG. The China election interference thing failed. Ok, now it’s the Cubans - you know, the country in perpetual blackouts - and environmentalists (nod to our corporate masters) and the people trying to stop an ongoing genocide. They just want something to stick. Desperately.

Mike Waltz alleges that "the communist party in Cuba has been working with antifa and a number of other progressive leftist groups to sow chaos in our inner cities ... they're doing it with the violent environmentalist movement and pro-Palestinian movement"

Dayum! Albanians didn’t like their Supreme Court being corrupt so they burned it down. Like they really burned it to the ground.

Seems like someone knows his assets days may be numbered and is getting desperate.

My 2 y.o. is in a phase where she just says "ya" to any question, so we've been having great fun asking her anything and everything just to make ourselves laugh. And then today my husband goes, "Do you agree with the decisions of the Supreme Court over the last 5 years?" and she was like "no"
