A stunning defeat for a Trump-aligned right-wing leader in Europe. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, whose government cultivated close ties with Donald Trump and his family, has conceded defeat to a student-led opposition movement in a historic parliamentary election.

Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. personally met with Vučić, while Jared Kushner pursued a major luxury real estate project with his government. Now, after nearly two years of massive student-led protests against corruption and authoritarianism, Vučić's ruling party has been defeated at the ballot box.

The student-backed movement is projected to win a parliamentary majority, ending more than a decade of dominance by Vučić's party.\

I can only hope we have the same success in November. Two more years of this controlled administration and I don’t know what will be one of us.

First Hungary, now Serbia. We can do this. Please get out and vote so we can start our path back to dignity, self-respect and democratic norms. Enough of being fleeced.

It is important, but the criminals don’t care bc they just want to r a p e each countries coffers for personal gain as they destroy nations.

The words of Nick Hanauer are never far from my mind - "If we don't change, the pitchforks are coming!" I wonder if that isn't starting to happen across Europe.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has publicly admitted his defeat. Anyone who sides with Trump ends up losing... a prime example being Viktor Orbán. Trump himself is the biggest loser in world history.

Turns out "strongman" is a brand with a surprisingly high churn rate once the global trend shifts. The geopolitical version of a software update that accidentally deletes the admin privileges.

I know Trump’s endorsement carries weight in the Republican primaries, but has it helped anyone where he didn’t simply endorse the winner, late in the process? Orbán, Vučić, Farage, le Penne are simply the overseas examples.

I have great hopes that sanity will prevail in Brazil as well. Apparently a lot of people just sat out the first round of elections, probably figuring LuLu had it in the bag. And oops. A lesson in "why you should always vote, every election".

In Europe the young are rising. I remember the 60s when we all got together and told them its our generation and you guys just ffffffade away. It eventually resulted in the end of the Vietnam war, segregation and other evils. Time for the young to rip the reins from us never had it so good boomers!

Anyway, if you can: get yourself to DC right after you cast your vote on election day. If we have many people ready to go in DC, if they refuse to concede or accept our votes, this horde of angry voters can march on the White House and hold it hostage. If they concede, throw a giant party.

Millions of Americans are constantly protesting. The problem is how big the country is, how small the protests look in comparison, and that the media doesn't report on it very well.

It works best in smaller countries that the oligarchs don't focus as hard on. We'll see what happens in france. Protest still works, it just comes with steeper and steeper costs.

Glad to see one country that has decided they don’t want to see the Trump family and its close associates take over the world one small slice at a time. Can US voters please send the Trumps same message?

1 DOWN 3 to go… VOTE! BECAUSE your LIFE DOES DEPEND ON IT! VOTE for DEMOCRATS so they can get back control of both OUR Senate & House to GET AMERICANS BACK IN CONTROL OF OUR AMERICA! We are NOT a RUSSIAN OLIGARCH COUNTRY like that RUSSIAN ASSET FELONS trying to make US! VOTING IS OUR POWER!

#VoteBlue #VotaAzul We all need to show up and vote in the US all the way down our ballots vote BLUE! Enough of this corruption and incompetence! Todos debemos acudir a votar en Estados Unidos; votemos por el partido demócrata en toda la boleta! Ya basta de tanta corrupción e incompetencia!

The concession matters less than what it proves: two years of student pressure broke a machine that had the media, the money and the police. Moscow just lost its cheapest Balkan voice. The hard part is turning a protest list into an administration Brussels can actually hold to standards.

Amazing Meanwhile Brazilian mayors cut public transportation in the middle of voting to favour Bolsonaro We are living in the weirdest and most dangerous of times

As long as Lula wins, this is good, really. His enemies have come out of hiding and dared him to prosecute them.

Two down, two to go. Youth voters reject Bolsanaro in Brazil and Putins friend in Serbia. Now we’re just waiting for the same thing to happen in Israel and the US.

Putin dominates and manipulates Trump. Whether it’s a matter of Russian deals—from which he and his family are profiting—or whether Putin has a whole collection of videos from all those visits Trump made to Moscow, I haven’t quite figured that out yet. Go Servië 💪 youtube.com/shorts/1Kf_3...

Serbia had an election so naturally you guys act like Trump lost Ohio. He's still in the White House, fellas. Deep breaths.
