Walz: The president said it's a bunch of radicals. You're damn right we've been radicalized. Radicalized by compassion, radicalized by decency, radicalized by due process, radicalized by democracy.

Incredible morning gathering with my neighbors to watch these monks who with determination have walked for months because they believe in Peace. I believe in it as well. It starts with us.

Tonight I continue to stand with my friends, members and community members in Minnesota. For Alex, for Liam, for Renee. We cannot have our government attacking our own citizens and lying about it. Enough is enough. #iceoutschools

Shame on this administration. Their latest attempt to dismantle the Dept of Education—during American Education Week—is illegal and immoral. Not only do they want to starve and steal from our students—they want to rob them of their futures. Anyone who claims to care about children should be livid.

Super proud of my friend @nadinesmith.bsky.social for taking on this role. We need Nadine’s leadership!

Soon I’ll be taking the helm at Color of Change, the nation’s largest racial justice organization with major online impact. I am deeply proud of the work at Equality Florida and confident in the team carrying it forward. Please share the news and my excitement. colorofchange.org/blog/interna...

So proud to call Deirdre a friend!

Deirdre Schiffling of the ACLU at the DC #NoKings rally: "The courage that we are creating here today across the nation is contagious. It's powerful, and it's exactly what they're afraid of."

The time is now! Our peaceful protest will reach millions today and make sure everyone knows that we are pushing back and not ready to surrender our country. #nokings

This is important. Pay attention. Make sure everyone has this. This is out of the authoritarian playbook. Militarize the capital city. We need to fight back.

The next 45 days are going to be a time when everybody in DC needs to know our rights and how to assert them. Here are five important things for everyone to know while DC is under occupation 🧵

Appreciate the thoughtfulness our Board of Directors took in handling this decision. There is no place for anti-semitism. @neatoday.bsky.social

Tonight, NEA’s Board of Directors voted not to adopt a proposal that would have, for the first time, dictated who we engage with and what resources we share with our members. Read my full statement on this vote here: bit.ly/3ID3BmE

People in wheelchairs are getting arrested right now in the Russell Senate Office Building in DC. They showed up to tell Congress not to cut their Medicaid, because they cant afford health care without it. If you look closely you can see the zip ties on their hands. #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida. If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

This has to stop. Students, educators, and all our community members deserve to live in peace and safety. Our hearts go out to the Hortman and Hoffman families and all who care for them.

Princess Moss@neapresident.bsky.social

The news about the targeted attacks on lawmakers Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman and their spouses is heartbreaking. My prayers are with them all. Politically-motivated violence is unacceptable and an attack on our democracy. We cannot let fear win. We must continue our fight for a better future.

Last night, Capitol Police arrested roughly 60 veterans and their family members outside the U.S. Capitol. The group had gathered to hold a peaceful sit-in on the Capitol steps, but police intentionally set up a barrier of bike racks to prevent them from demonstrating.

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Pay attention. Standing vigil peacefully in support is not a crime. I stand with SEIU.

David Huerta peacefully stood up for his community during an ICE raid, and was forcefully injured and unjustly arrested. As educators and union members, we stand with David, @seiuca.bsky.social, and demand an end to these inhumane attacks. Where they bring terror, we bring solidarity.

If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut science research and education the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.

OZTURK WHOA WHOA WHOA: Judge Sessions just filed this order suggesting Ozturk had not been released 4:50pm and reaffirming his release order. The Government is at best dragging its feat, and at worst…something else.

On mental health awareness day, we need to normalize talking about the importance of taking care of mental health. I am proud to talk about my support from my therapist with my kids. #momsky

I was on the fence about attending the WHCD dinner this year but decided to show up on behalf of the reporters who are working to report on what is going on in this moment. A free press is central to our democratic society and we cannot let it go quietly. It is up to us to fight for our future.
