At the dmv for oldest kids drive test and a mom ahead of me steps out with her lawn chair and unfolds it to sit outside in the shade to wait. I’m totally doing that for the next two kids.

Kid passed the test and now authorized to drive by the state of California. I am already working on a list of side quests that he’s going to be sent on.

I have a student whose parent works for Disney Studios and he came in with this poster for me this morning. Really excited about this new season!

The FCC is reviewing a government program that helps provide internet connections at a discounted cost. Any changes to this program could impact school budgets and hurt rural districts significantly. We need to be sure to comment on this and protect this program from any cuts or changes!

For 30 years, E-Rate has connected schools and libraries to the internet, including more than $1 billion in support for Massachusetts. Now, Trump’s FCC is threatening its future. We must speak up and save E-Rate—our students and communities cannot afford to lose it.

Shoutout to the Story Pirates for entertaining us on our drive today. Kids and I were laughing at an episode from season 7 and I was enjoying how good the writing and the humor is for these podcasts to get a 47, 16, 11, and 9 year old laughing out loud. www.storypirates.com/podcast

Don't let ICE and this administration lie to you. I saw inside Delaney Hall with my own eyes. The conditions are absolutely unacceptable.

My district currently ranks 47th out of 48 in average teacher pay in LA County. Pay increases have not kept up with the price of inflation. We have now gone two consecutive years without a settlement. Meanwhile the district and school board are seeking to pad out reserves well above normal.

You will rarely read a more epic tale than what James Bevel and those children did on May 2, 1963...63 years ago today. they're lack of fear, commitment, and willingness is almost unimaginable. Especially for what they were put thru. They literally saved the movement

Given Trump’s Easter threats to carry out new war crimes in Iran, we should think one or two steps ahead about a coup attempt connected to the war. And then deter it. (1/17)

I don’t think people really understand that all that talk about why it’s impossible for a team to three peat just makes the Dodgers work harder to do exactly that and prove people wrong about them.

Made the mistake of mentioning tonight’s blood moon and now my younger two want to wake up at 2:30 am because they think the world will look like Breath of the Wild.

Our school’s Humanities Academy hosted our 3rd annual Poetry and Art Showcase tonight for a packed house! We had TK students through high school come share their work tonight. Truly a special night.

Made me tear up a bit. It’s a small thing, but it’s nice to see a government official who seems to enjoy the job and genuinely likes people.

Everyone in the world comes to get married at the NYC Marriage Bureau. Last week, the Mayor stopped by to officiate a few of those ceremonies.    Thank you to all the couples who shared their joy with us. Happy Valentine's Day, New York.     Watch the full video at Youtube.com/nycmayorsoffice

Teaching the Gilded Age Unit to my students this year and I’d appreciate if the feds would stop giving me new ways to show my students why history is important. I just can’t keep up.
