LETA POWELL DRAKE was a Nebraskan celebrity interviewer who in her 1970's & 1980's pomp more often than not left her subjects staring wide-eyed in disbelief at what the fuck she’d just said.

Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

im from the Deep South and learned as a child to never, ever underestimate the wit and quickness of a black woman.

holy smokes, conan strikes up a chat with a random lady on the subway and she immediately starts riffing on his level, no problem.

i think my favorite guild name ive seen in the WoW Forever beta is the simple and understated... 'the gays'. all lower case. lol

wild... just days after my 48th birthday, im just NOW noticing the few silvery strands hiding in my hair. wtf lol

my very, very first job was as a Waffle House cook. i lasted 3 days.. i couldn't remember all the orders shouted at me or the (very clever and helpful) plating technique that told me what to prepare and how. too much pressure. I learned respect for Waffle House cooks (and ALL cooks/chefs)!

Just another day in the Presidency as directed by Fellini.

i have suddenly, in the last day or two, gotten all kinds of NSFW/porn right on my Discover feed... wth? Real, drawn, and otherwise. i dont follow, like, or even view this stuff on Bluesky (in fact, i block or 'dont show me this')... why is it forcing it on me?

watched the "Once Upon a La'an" Episode of SNW last night... so, it was basically "D&D as Therapy" in Star Trek. The character's diegetic lampshading of their situations makes the absurdity tolerable, to me. if they tried to play it all straight, it would be insufferable.

BUT, they are right along with the audience going "yeah, its weird, but lets just roll with it." and that works for me. again, another episode in service of exploring a characters emotions.

almost done with ST:SNW S4... watched the 'badmiral' episode last night. I feel like they made this episode just to prove to people that they COULD make serious, high-drama episodes, but they just don't WANT to, because that's not what SNW is about. excellent episode with serious moral quandry.

watched the 'Soap Opera' espisode of STar Trek SNW last night. you people are dumb.. this entire season has been great (though the 'Heavy Nuetrinos' or whatever they were, was weaksauce) and very entertaining. The gimmicks are used to explore the character's emotions in interesting and novel ways.

This just reaffirms my opinion that people simply do not understand what SNW is or what its trying to do... i think its succeeding wonderfully, especially this season. the details and canon references are great, IMO.

Watched the puppet episode of SNW last night. Fuck y’all, I loved it! I think people are trying to make SNW something it’s not. It’s not TNG, it’s not supposed to be. Just accept it for what it is: Strange. New. Worlds. Pelia puppet was fucking hilarious.

ALLLL of that said, I’d love a real successor to TNG. Thoughtful. Moral. Deep. Allegorical. I was hoping Legacy could be that.

...they're trying REALLY hard with this one and it's going to be a shame if it does basically "HE-MAN's" box-office for the same basic reason (i.e. "The target audience is 40 year-olds who wait for streaming on everything.")
