Anna Devís and Daniel Rueda plan every shot as a drawing first, then build it for real — painted walls, actual props, natural light. No digital compositing; if something needs to be on the wall, they paint it by hand. Both architects by training, based in Valencia, Spain. ❤️ IG: @anniset / @drcuerda

“This gradual consumption of the marketplace is how we ended up with an indefensibly small number of companies controlling every major sector of the music business: touring, recording, publishing, media, distribution, management and more.” The True Cost of Corporate Dominance in the Music Industry:

variety.comThe True Cost of Corporate Dominance in the Music Industry (Guest Post)In this post, music executive Rev. Moose warns that the corporatization of the music industry is choking off its power source: the independent sector.

William Eggleston: All That Goes Unnoticed at the Photographers’ Gallery, London Glorious colours and observations. Although, as one loudly bickering couple proved today, not to everybody’s taste. “I don’t care what it is Stephen, it’s not art. It’s shit.”

Nice little Thursday afternoon trip to the local picturehouse ended with two old geezers nearly coming to blows in an expletive ridden stand off over talking in cinema etiquette. Madness.

Frida: The Making of an Icon at Tate Modern. As title suggests, more an exhibition of Frida Kahlo The Icon than Frida Kahlo The Artist. So, the few Greatest Hits are watered down with a lot of filler. Still enjoyed it, but then I quite like pop culture tat.

Expert on the news saying he could make an AI version of the Bayeux Tapestry tapestry but wouldn’t have the impact of the original.

Can someone check the Scala is still standing today. Last night the Jim Jones All Stars (slot now secured as Jim’s finest ensemble) and a restored Spitfire (every bit as rock & roll as they were in ‘91) shook it up something proper.

45 years ago Monkey Snr used this record as an instrument of freaky jazz torture against his children. Now I really like it…

Amelia and the Housewives (2026). Nice to find other people who seemingly love the first Pipettes album as much as I.

The Goldhawk is the stuff of top tier 60s mod legend. Home to the Action and The Who, it’s not really changed much. Always wanted to go inside so this is hugely exciting news all round. Tickets for the 100 Faces tomorrow.

Very long time since I’ve stopped in my tracks to see what a newspaper front page was all about. Great work by the picture department at The Observer today.

Melanddi shoe shop on Carnaby Street, early 80s. No pisstaking, we were all young and impressionable once. And I miss that.

The BBC charter section 6.4: "...the BBC should accurately and authentically represent and portray the lives of the people of the United Kingdom today, and raise awareness of the different cultures and alternative viewpoints that make up its society"

Bethany wore a “Protect The Dolls” t-shirt during rehearsals. The BBC posted it on their socials then quietly deleted and reposted it without showing her from the front. On TV last night they actually blurred the message #Strictly

Bruno and the Outrageous Methods of Presentation at the Lexington last nite. Wow! A string of blistering 90 second songs played at breakneck speed. Pure punk perfection. Best new band seen in years.

Maximum punk R&B from Thee Headcoats last nite. “Secret” gig ahead of their proper big reunion shows next year. Was like being back in the St John’s Tavern in the 90s: a riveting rollicking rock & roll jumble.

Just listened to Steve Davis’s favourite album, Mekanïk Destruktïẁ Kommandöh, a French “rock opera concept album telling the story of a doomed Earth caught in endless war, and a prophet's prediction that sparks a large demonstration march by Earthlings to kill him.” Never again. 🇫🇷

No fan of live albums and most definitely anti releases over two hours but this is a stonking stream. The best of Paul Weller by Paul Weller at his best. Superb.

Used audiobook for 50% of Rachel Stirling’s All About My Mother. It meant finished book in a week instead of two but doubt will repeat experience. Felt too passive.

A controversial instalment for the Modculture film club. A film that divides. In fact, you’ll struggle to find many positive opinions of the Absolute Beginners movie by Julien Temple. But it's an interesting one nonetheless. bit.ly/4ycFBf0
