In 2003 we had a Palestinian guy come and speak at our school and it was the first time I'd ever really heard anyone speak critically about Israel but islamophobia was rampant in 2003 so the teacher had to make it clear he was a CHRISTIAN Palestinian and we were therefore allowed to feel bad for him

Something about Harry Potter that I never thought about before JKR became a TERF is just how incurious all the characters are about the world they live in. Even Hermione who's shown to be highly intellectual never stops to wonder where magic comes from or why only some people are born able to use it
My actual main villain is flawed but he believes he's doing the right thing in his twisted roundabout way. However side villain Graigor Beckett is just full on shameless 1980s movie bully with zero redeeming qualities, who exists only to be obnoxious and cause problems. I am only a little ashamed.
Who in your book/wip is just the absolute worst? What makes them so? #WritingPrompt

In 2009 I interviewed to do tech support for a company that made those little tablets servers use to take orders at restaurants. They hired someone else but that person didn't work out so they asked if I was still interested. This being 2009, I was desperate, so I agreed. I think I lasted 3 days.

this is something I do worry about, not because I think the GOP are even doing this necessarily--but because I think that on the left we are uniquely vulnerable to giving up in disillusionment if our wildest dreams don't come 100% true.
Iβm conspiratorial enough to wonder whether the gop freakouts are an attempt to manage expectations so that anything short of a blowout is a disappointment www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...
