Madison is crushing it on early voting. So far 10.8% of registered voters have returned a ballot. Get yours in. You can also register at the poll.

Voted early yesterday! Get out there if you can and early voting is available in your area!

Ok so I was reading the numbers wrong before, my bad. As of today it’s 19%. My apologies, my numerator was just “issued” instead of returned. Sorry! Still great numbers.

This is just delightful

Went to Mirror Lake State Park and the Dells Mountain Coaster today. Both were great! Highly recommend. Especially in the fall with all the crunchy leaves. 🍂 🍁

The process of reading and re-reading someone else's imperfect work and devoting mental energy to figuring out what's not working in it and how to fix it is how you develop the creative instincts that allow you to automatically, unconsciously avoid pitfalls and make breakthroughs in your own work.

Update, so great. Except for the guy in the first row recording everything with his phone. Who does that? I don’t understand how you can enjoy the experience like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My high schooler got their first unsolicited college brochure from Luther College. Them: “how do they know who I am? And I don’t want to go to Iowa!” Me: my sweet child, let me tell you how the College Board sells data to colleges.

Another day on the #trapeze rig. I hesitated to go since I was really tired and feeling a bit sick. Still did it. Wasn’t my best but I did make progress on my swing! Got some more callouses too…

Me and my ice skating team left the rink at the same time to go for coffee. Me on bike and the others driving. Guess who got there first? 🙋🏻‍♀️ They were all surprised but I had bike paths almost the whole way and two underpasses to skip the lights! 🚦

🤩🤩🤩

Has your town removed minimum parking mandates yet, in some places or citywide? If so, let @parkingreform.org know. Your example will inspire others!

Parking Reform Network@parkingreform.org

One of the best arguments for reform: “Another city already did it.” Good policy spreads faster when communities can learn from places that went first. PRN’s Parking Reform Map helps find the precedent: parkingreform.org/resources/ma...

Can’t wait to read all of these!

"If eco-social anomie describes a societal forgetting, dam removal achieves the opposite—a 'collective remembering' that unshifts our baselines." This week @biographic.bsky.social published my story on the rewilding of New England rivers, a mill dam at a time. (1/6) biographic.com/death-by-a-t...

While I won't tell the whole story here, the TLDR is that NYC high schools have greater Black-white segregation today than they did in 1967. 12/end
