I need to be clear: I quite like Noah, I enjoy his acting work, this is NOT about this man as an individual; it's about my IN-ability to understand why one mid person out of many gets the label of "sexiest worldwide"

"sexiest man alive" and it's just somebody's last-minute plus one... I'm not even convinced men are people, and this shit doesn't help

Every year they hold this poll, and every year they just choose some guy

For a few years now I’ve been floating the idea that theatre is the art form of the future because sharing physical space with people is increasingly precious. Here’s a new reason: there’s no generated slop on the stage. #TheatreIsHuman

Pierrot Took his heart And hung it On a wayside wall. He said, “Look, Passers-by, Here is my heart!” But no one was curious. No one cared at all That there hung Pierrot’s heart On the public wall.

Has anyone actually ever adapted Carrie the way King wrote the book - as a true crime documentary with talking head interviews and reconstructions? It's one of the things that makes the book great and AFAIK it's never used

I just got in from work and this has NOT calmed me down

"Graphic design is my passio- oh wait did I say graphic design, silly me! 😁 Killing foreigners! Killing foreigners is my passion." Not even *slightly* funny: the story inside is about sending the navy 🤮🤬

I just received one of the worst things I've ever received by post. A completely gratuitous, unwelcome "free paper" called The Reformer. I hate it so much. I feel like binning it isn't harsh enough, but wiping my arse with it is offensive to my arse 🙁 (it's from Reform UK). What to do??

I think the appeal here is actually for people who want to sail over traffic jams in the cities. They will be the only one with this tech and all the other drivers will be looking up in awe and envy. It's like those musk vids, from pre-covid, of a fancy tunnel with A SINGLE CAR zooming down it

The thing about militias is carcinization. They have diverse origin stories: homeowner association, jitney business. In a lawless environment, they hire private security. Private security eventually realises they can take over the organisation. They then expand the business into a protection racket

My favourite book is Bambi, by Felix Salten. An incredible piece of literature, tragic, warm, profound yet simple, an amazing combination of tenderness and loss. That book gets you to cry when a leaf falls from a tree. ...I've never seen the Disney movie and I don't intend to

I have all 4 translations into English of Bambi, and none of them have some dipshit rabbit called Thumper. That's why I never intend to watch the movie! But ppl still either a) snigger or b) go "aw...!" when I say it's my favourite book. Neither response makes sense grr

Sorry, I have to vent on this topic: worst thing about the movie is it prompted the still-alive Bambi author Felix Salten, older and poorer, to churn out a cash-grab sequel, Bambi's Children, trying to imitate Disney: a depressing potboiler that shits on his own earlier masterpiece 🙁

Also I don't mean shade on Charles L Grant here, he's a misogynist, but still far from the worst of the Stephen-King-influenced writers at that time

It's basically On The Road by Jack Kerouac (I really hate that book!) set in Oxrun, Connecticut (ie: an imitation Stephen King small town)

I'm aware that Carpenter and King are buddies, and the movie is very much *about* the 80s/90s publishing phenomenon that was King. But that, to me, just makes this movie even emptier. Like nobody telling this story gives a fraction of a shit

For the first time ever I am managing (so far, fingers crossed) to watch a horror movie every day in October. Last night was In The Mouth Of Madness. Am I the only person who thinks that movie is bad? It's not even bad in an interesting way, it's just.. lazy, crappy filmmaking..?

It's not about anything at all. It starts nowhere and goes nowhere. It mocks the concept of story and the characters are just faces that say stuff at random - which would work if the atmosphere was gripping. But there's no atmosphere. It's disconnected and fake.
