Hey Bluesky, I'm updating my Terms. The updated Terms will go into effect on January 1, 2025

Why is my Sophos fw giving me such trouble? I just want DNS to work with a FQDN. How am I to set up WAF rules if I can't even ping the hostname?

What started as a vibecoded offshoot of a YouTube video is now a legitimate open-source project with real people using it. New video on what it took to get MikroTik Manager there: youtu.be/7kNS6horIyI Free and open source: github.com/2GT-Media-Gr...

Started a @gitea.com on my #Unraid server. Heard it was a great way to document changes. Oh, I am also attempting to learn #ansible.

Unraid 7.4.0 Beta 2* is live. ⚡️ We’ve refined the core experience with: ✓ A new shared task tray ✓ Advanced Docker networking & memory limits ✓ Configurable power button behavior ✓ Direct flash backups Watch the August Digest: youtu.be/SZtI31FLtaQ?... #Unraid #Homelab

Dota by Basshunter still bangs. #turnupthebass

I spent 2 hours troubleshooting why Unraid would not detect drives on a m.2 PCIe expansion card. I found that the card supports NVMe, I was using SATA cards. Read the manual better folks. 😅 B+M keys.

Check out IPFire - it's a free, open source, linux-based firewall. youtu.be/qjPyh2FsGeM

Oh crap. I don't think it's recoverable.

Upgrade complete! Now to migrate to internal boot and expand the array.

Time to upgrade the @unraid.net box. Going from the 4th gen to a 15th Gen should be insane 😅. Now what to do with the old system?

Halfway into cutting the grass, the mower threw the belt. Nothing like replacing a lawnmower belt during the noonday sun. 🥵

I've been thinking of swapping from Ubuntu to Fedora.

Noo. My @newegg shipment was delayed by UPS. It always baffles me that it takes longer to go the last mile here in Atlanta, than it does to ship across the entire country. CA -> GA, 3 days. Internal transfers in Atlanta, 4-5 days bouncing back and forth between hubs.

What do you mean you can't figure out how to save a pdf? I thought this was 2026. Allow me to dust off the ol' "click here to download" button.

Setup complete! The new #Unleashed is much cleaner and responsive.

Packaged delivered: Ruckus R650. Wireless is about to go Unleashed.

I bought a Ryobi One+ 9" edger today. No because I 'need' it, but because it was 50% off. My driveway is going to be so defined. 😅

If you're lucky enough to be different, don't ever change.

It. Is. So. Hot.

Don’t call it age verification. Call it centralised personal data collection. And understand that it serves surveillance, not safety for children.

Oh snap, disk failed.

I ate some hot pasta. Instead of the normal culprits, tongue and palate, somehow my tonsil was the victim. Now it feels as though I have a very throat. 😅

So... I'm starting a rental property. Yes, in this economy. 🤷

Yes — “The older I get, the more I realize, I don’t want a busy life. I want a deep life. Slow mornings. Focused work. Calm people. Meaningful progress. Good books. A quiet mind at night. Nothing flashy. Nothing trendy. Just a life that feels good to live. Depth over noise. That'll do.“ Karun Pal

Why did I just now upgrade to PVE 9? I'm falling behind the times.

Just swapped over from #Tailscale to #Netbird. Netbird installation was easy enough and working as well. The next plan is to #selfhost on Proxmox as LXC. What are your thoughts on Netbird?

I may have to try VSCodium. Lately, I have been on an anti Microsoft kick.

I'm on my 3rd glass of wine and it's not even dinner time. Going to be a long day.
