Last night I accidentally read Platform Decay by @marthawells.com How does one accidentally read a book, you may ask? Well you start on page 1, then get so engaged that you don't notice how far you are until the book ends.

I love seeing how MB is changing to gain more of a sense of what it likes and doesn't, and the repercussions of certain things from previous books coming into play!

Defy Dull Fun is an anagram of Fully Funded. Thank you so much to everyone who pledged to bring Rune Rite to tables in need of fun. I am going to take a quick breather to celebrate. πŸ˜΄πŸŽ‰ Even more grateful than last time, Jason Katzwinkel #BoardGames #Kickstarter #IndieBoardGames πŸ’™πŸŽ²

My fiance (lawyer, no software experience) managed to make his own mod for Victoria 2, to allow new actions and decisions. Just by looking up documentation and a lot of trial and error. I'm so proud of him πŸ₯°

Just finished The Silent Paths of Night by David Slayton, and I'm now emotionally devastated. I'm gonna need some time to recover from this (positive). I can't wait for the best book!

Finished Alan Wake 1! I probably have time to play American Nightmare before Halloween, too!

The World Ends With You. One of the best games on the DS. I've played it before but never owned it.... until now! So glad to finally own my own copy. I highly recommend playing it if you haven't.

The princess took an earring off and held it out. The raven looked at it. "Whatever for?" "You are wise and clever. Many princesses have dragons, but none has a raven friend." The raven picked up the earring. "Say no more." "Friends?" she asked when it returned the next day. "Forevermore."

It's almost October, and that means it's almost time for Terror Time from the absolute masterpiece that is Scooby Doo on Zombie Island!

A little while ago I found my childhood Pokemon Sapphire cart. I used an Analogue Pocket to back up the save, and tonight transferred it to the Thor. I felt weirdly sentimental looking at the old save and seeing what I had done!

Over four years in the making. That's a bit of a dramatic intro; I wasn't working on it every day for four years. I was figuring out *games* for four years. But it's finally here. πŸ’Ž Rune Rite is coming to crowdfunding on October 13th. Follow this prelaunch page for a notification then. #boardgames

kickstarter.comComing soon: Rune Rite Flip-and-Write GameSharpen your quill and unstopper your inkwell! In this flip-and-write game for 1-5 players, you'll conjure your own polyominoes to win.

In honor of spooky season, I've started replaying the original Alan Wake. I only got through chapter 3 the first time I played, so I'm excited to try again.

I'm very fortunate to call Matt a friend and to have had a front-row seat as he's developed this game. It is a passion project in the best possible way: a game that comes from Matt's deep commitment to guiding the next generation of STEM enthusiasts. Definitely worth following for when it launches!

Today feels like a good day to announce it! I'm preparing for my first crowd funding campaign! Bot Builders is an engine building game about robots and the people who make them, inspired by real life robotics competitions.

Ginger can definitely tell when I'm stressed/anxious - she's been laying on top of me all evening, comforting me. She did the same thing the other day when Mitch was stressing about his baking not going according to plan.

I made this tiny game a few years ago partially as a little design exercise with no winning and partially as an excuse to display lots of dice

My students did a fantastic community outreach event today! Good vibes, good outcome, lots of smiling faces. Context: I mentor a high school robotics team, teaching them how to program the robots that they build. There's an emphasis on outreach and community engagement and STEM awareness.

It's been a slow year for me, for a number of reasons, but I managed to get a prototype of this made & played yesterday...! It works! 2-player version of my cyberpunk game run/hack, using cards and dice only. Lots more playtesting and development ahead! πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ

A "cards and dice only" version of my biggest unpublished game, run/hack, is coalescing in my mind... This will be a two player cyberpunk game with lots of cards and dice. πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ (the original game can be found here: weheartgames.itch.io/runhack)

I'm so bad at games that I managed to lose at Unfathomable, a game where many complain that it's skewed towards the traitors... As the traitor. 😭
