Sometimes I wonder what it’s like to be one of those people whose post gets quoted so that ALT text can be added to the image. Do those folks feel anything in response? Do they even have a reaction?

As I was researching the latest scam website (thanks @jordankurella.com for posting), this call came in. Tack thewinterpress (dot) com on the list of scam sites. I’m so friggin’ tired, boss.

Hey #WritingCommunity friends: If you know any of the authors listed on the "featured authors" page of authorsdaily (dot) com, reach out and inform them. Jordan thankfully saw his name on there and raised this concern, but the others may not know!

There actually *is* an amount you could pay for me to read an AI novel. That amount is the sum total of royalties due to every single author for all the calculated usages of their work by all models, which I'd then pass on. (And then I *still* wouldn't read the AI novel. 🤫)

Pay attention to the ableism being thrown around with respect to Christina Applegate finding out she doesn’t have MS. People acting like it’s a relief or a blessing. Like she’s “better off now”. She’s still sick. She’s just sick without answers. I guarantee it’s not a “relief” for her.

Friends: I’m at a local place and just heard the song that sparked all this nonsense! I can’t do the math on the differential between when I “should” have heard it and now. Also: The artist is going for Captain & Tenille + country. It’s nothing special, but not terrible. 🤔

My second job in high school – hired to be a dishwasher at a restaurant. My first night they made me devein shrimp and, though not allergic to them, the smell can frequently be enough to make me vomit. They fired me after 2 hours.

I really wish it was easier to configure most routers to block access per device. You could temporarily allow the jerkass TV through then re-block. I know how to do it, but my parents' router doesn't even have it as an option!

Good question! Alt text is for context, and depends on the context of the post! Is it a reply by way of a cat making a silly face? You don’t need to describe its fur, just the face. Is the cat lying in the sun, and you took the photo because of how its fur looks? Describe that fur!

There’s truly nothing like a screenshot of a tweet from a person I have blocked, mentioning a term I have blocked. And, as always, prefaced by a hand pointing down emoji. *chef kiss*
