An interesting question just popped up in the work chat today. Are there any bat populations that are considered to be introduced (reintroductions don't count) or invasive anywhere in the world? What say you, bat experts?

Of the 1988 album Under the Radar by Underworld, maybe the last track is salvageable. Too bouncy for its dreariness and vice versa. If your favourite David Bowie album is Never Let Me Down, you might be the target audience for some archly presented synth-funk from these guys. I found it a real slog.

what stands out to me about the actual debates i’ve had with friends is if they have knowledge or experiences i don’t, i *wanna* hear that shit. i want my horizons broadened, i want to learn. i trust them not to bullshit me for points or try to spin my willingness to listen into a concession.

My kid recently experienced a devastating “I learned it from watching you, dad” moment when she tried to do the thing I do where I’m too lazy to clean a colander so I drain pasta using a fork or the lid of the pot and she poured her noodle cup straight into the sink.

Sananda Maitreya has one of the more confounding discographies in terms of being ahead of the curve and general ambition, and this album is especially notorious 😁

Not to be a dick, but as much as the production generally impresses me throughout, I do think the songs are a good bit less consistent than I'd remembered them being, especially with the lyrics. A lot of it isn't as biting as it aims to be, or you can see the wire under the papier-mache otherwise.

Which great artists (any medium) are releasing a 2027 calendar I can buy in the UK? Christmas cards too... (Seasonal gifts are often money left on the table, and I'm struggling to find good examples, last couple years. I should be struggling to choose between cool stuff, not struggling to find it.)
