Education is arguably the clearest, most powerful form of a country investing in itself. As such I think all education should be available at as little cost to the individual as possible. I am happy for any steps in this direction. I've paid my loans, and begrudge no one this aid.
When men of dangerous principles begin quarreling among themselves, a wise republic may welcome their disagreement without mistaking either party for a friend of liberty.
When two wolves quarrel over the shepherd's conduct, the sheep would be foolish to mistake either wolf for their protector.
Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too.
Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.
– George
Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date.
My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.
Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.
Officials recommend voters use ballot drop boxes whenever possible and say that voters intent on mailing their ballots should do so early, to ensure that they are counted in the event of postmark delays at the U.S. Postal Service.

Trump detests the free enterprise system. He believes in a Soviet-style command economy with total government control. He favors foreign trade based on bribery. He opposes competition.
That's why, when a foreign country like Taiwan manufactures a product, Trump says they're "stealing" our business.
Trump: "Look, if we had smart presidents, the Taiwan problem with China wouldn't exist. Nobody would care. They stole our chip business. All of it. 100 percent."
it kills me to not be answering these CS tickets, but damnit, if they're letting me go, then SOMEONE has to pick this stuff up. Might as well force the issue while I could still get paid to answer a question.
Note: I am not responsible to make a plan, nor do I have any idea what the plan is...
Or the Ganso Bomb, which was really a botch but memorable as hell, was probably less bad of an idea than the Shaker Heights Spike.
Note: Don't try to powerbomb someone when you badly broke your forearm 15 minutes ago.
Last night I might have had the second least bad night of sleep I’ve had this year.
When I woke up it felt like I had actually been asleep, not just unconscious.
Republicans that bet on Trump to Kill American democracy are probably as disappointed as rational Americans are that Biden failed to save American Democracy from Trump.
You know, there's that story about giving your successor 2 envelopes. First envelope says "blame the problems on me" and the second says "write two letters".
The Felon is just repeating the first envelope in an infinite loop and it's hitting the inflection point where it's not working well enough.
Trying out Sakamoto Days.
Fun take on the "retired level 20 adventurer now owns a shop" kinda idea.
Not sure I'll stick with it too long. Has the feel of a series where the main plot is the worst thing about it
But I'm also kinda hoping they somehow wind up in America at a Waffle House at some point
I just got smashed with nostalgia for KTEH. That's a little station that could. Having Craig Charles and Danny John-Jules there for a Red Dwarf marathon during a pledge drive, I remember through a caller request they got him to sing Tongue Tied on the spot.
Supposedly, the station playing anime was a non-trivial part of why we got The Big O season 2. They were apparently part of those planning discussions, to prove there was enough of an audience to make season 2 worth while.
And, of course, there's the Scott Appel presentation of The Prisoner. At least those should all be available on YouTube.
Man, it was so cool as an alternative. I watched so much old Dr. Who on there...
Got a job lead...
Friend who works there alerted me to the position, gave me a lot of good resume feedback, and will recommend me.
Another friend landed a different position, so tech workers can still get individual wins, even now.
He's giving me systemic search help, too.
Fingers crossed...
I’m loving the “well akshually he didn’t REALLY mean let Iran take out Los Angeles and San Diego” excuses today.
Cool. Explain the assholes in the crowd who thought it was fucking hilarious.
Deplorables wasn’t strong enough.
We're talking about favorite Kids in the Hall sketches?
I think "I speak no English" has a disproportionate space in my memory.

The free claude plugin for VS code fucks with learning. If it's on, it'll just fill in the exercise you're working on with a massive auto-complete. I'm guessing the training data includes public github repos from other people who did the same exercise, so it knows the answer.

There's a point where this *can* be helpful to learn, in the case where you're blocked and need help putting things together, but that's also what boot.dev 's chatbot is for, to work you through it without handing you the answer.
For the most part, this plugin encourages mental lazyness.
This is something that a lot of current employers are going to expect proficiency in, though. My feelings on that are... more complex than I'm prepared to discuss at the moment.
Trump will not be held accountable for his illegal commercials. But it is still important that we recognize the commercials as illegal. There. Are. FOUR. Lights.

hmm, not been sleeping well. Tried an energy drink to get the head more clear to make progress. Might not have been the correct call. Feeling a little clearer, but the stress and panic is hitting harder. Not sure that was a productive move.
ffffuuuuuccccckkkkk
panic sure makes it hard to fucking concentrate. time just starts slipping away as I try to keep myself on task.
Gotta keep moving forward.
Be easier if I were in solid control of anything at all, but I'm not.
Hmm, suggestion to help constrain AI psychosis.
Remove text output as an option and have voice only (I know this is a problem on a few levels, but...)
Have the voice sound and speak with the Majel Barrett voice for the Enterprise Computer.
I think the flat, overly declarative tone would help prevent the thought that this is a thinking, feeling agent that you are interacting with, and give a much more approachable framework for how to interact with this tool in a healthy and productive manner.
Unfortunately these tools were trained on how to be MORE passable and to please people, meaning they have been formed to play into AI psychosis, and that's... it's own kind of very problematic.
