Serious question, I don’t know and I may never know, but does truth social have this many pictures of peoples’ pets? On @bsky.app it doesn’t matter who you follow, you’re going to be seeing a lot of pets.

No on likes Pennsylvania just how we like it

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

the other thing is that conservatives resolutely do not see the purpose of education as providing social mobility but as reifying and deepening existing inequalities of status. they are as hostile to low income students getting admission to elite institutions as they are black ones.

On Nantucket i drove a tour bus and got a job unloading boxes at stop and shop. A few weeks in I noticed there was a schedule. I had been coming whenevs, working in the back, punching a timecard. I missed like 8 shifts. No one said anything, still got paid, but I was too embarrassed to go back.

Hilarious when the stock dodge that every election denier has downloaded is so predictable and easy for an opponent to crush. We know what they’re going to say and it’s easy to expose it, yet they can’t answer anything else. like a fish in a barrel. @adammockler.com does it on the regular.

The ICE agent at the center of the shooting in Marble Hill on Thursday is a familiar face to those closely following the Trump administration’s ICE crackdown in NYC. The City Reporter wrote about Brenden Cuni in May. 🧵

That feeling when they made a toxic reality competition show where people are awful to each other, wrapped it in the branding of a beloved children’s novel and now my 9 yo is addicted to it 😐

I would like to see more men talking about how to and peer pressuring each other into calling out misogyny and rape culture. Going against social norms is hard, and it helps to share tips and support.

This is the impeachment right here. Anti-constitutional.

This aired just the once in 1998 on the live SNL show for which McKay wrote it. It was effectively banned as it never aired again. I wonder why. MEDIA-OPOLY

i mean, just look at how the populists talked about the railroad barons and others like them. "The fruits of the toil of millions are boldly stolen to build up colossal fortunes, unprecedented in the history of the world, while their possessors despise the republic and endanger liberty."

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

plenty of 20th century examples by my 19th century-pilled mind goes immediately to the railroads, which were HUGELY DISRUPTIVE and deeply enmeshed in politics in ways quite analogous to silicon valley and AI

Maniac Mansion was the first game I played that had characters, story, and a particular tone. It was funny and weird and made you do funny and weird things. Played it on my apple 2 before I got NES.
