Today is my first day at @GitHubNext.com! GitHub has been one of my favorite places to hang since I signed up 18 years ago(!), a mere month after its founding. Excited to join this talented team to try and figure out what comes next for our craft ...
Congrats y'all - excited to see where things go for here. Now... deltadb OS please? 😁
Delta is now in public beta. It’s a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing what they build, with every code change linked to the conversation that produced it. Anyone can download it today on macOS, Linux, and Windows: delta.dev/download
I've been having a lot of fun letting agents do things together using telephone today. Give it a spin and let me know what you think! nate.rip/telephone
god ui, great tool 🔥
After testing 100s of imgs comparing tiny and big changes to the algo: I am now confident to present to you: The new okpalette.color.pizza. Powerful as before, ~40% faster, better at detecting good presets and much better at finding rare colors! Test it with your pics and let me know what you think
I'm back from pat leave, and been getting back into #gpui again! And thus, gpuikit 0.9 is out! nate.rip/gpuikit/
Should be keeping up the velocity a bit more now, as I'll be doing a lot more exploratory work this year. That means less typescript, more rust! crates.io/crates/gpuikit

congrats to the @zed.dev team for reaching the 1.0 milestone :) it's been my daily driver for... a long time zed.dev/blog/zed-1-0
Congrats @nathansobo.bsky.social, @maxbrunsfeld.bsky.social , @as-cii.com, the entire team; and the community that helped make Zed what it is today! Much love from afar ❤️
We've shipped more than a thousand versions of Zed, but all of them began with zero. Today, that changes. zed.dev/blog/zed-1-0

Got to talk at @aidotengineer.bsky.social conf last week about the need for collaborative AI engineering. All our current coding agents are single player. We're trying to scale up individual productivity, but creating tons of alignment problems in the process. We have no good tools for...

Putting together the final touches on slides for my talk at AI Engineer conf this Thursday @aidotengineer.bsky.social Talking about how we need realtime, multiplayer, collaborative agentic dev tools. Not isolated, single player terminal instances. And showing one we've built at @githubnext.com!

Zeta2 is here. 30% better acceptance rate than Zeta1. 200x more training data, LSP-powered context, faster predictions, open weights. Try it now in Zed. We didn't just improve the model. We rebuilt the entire data pipeline behind it: zed.dev/blog/zeta2

We're hiring an Open Source Engineer! 🦀 Build features, review PRs, shape how contributors engage with Zed. Interesting problems, Rust codebase, small team, fully remote. Your work ships in days and users notice. Know someone? Are you someone? 👀 zed.dev/jobs/open-so...

I haven't had too much time to tinker recently, but I got nate.rip moved over to @standard.site this weekend!
github.com/ente-io/ente looks great - anyone tried it yet? (Especially with reasonably large library - 500gb or so?)

I think the most pragmatic thing people can do, if they're being mandated to use LLMs, is to unionise. If by some miracle the bubble doesn't burst, there will still likely be lots of layoffs so get protecting yourself and your colleagues. @ethanmarcotte.com has got the blueprint for you here.
