Had a dream last night that I met an awesome young artist and commissioned her to do some Cobalt City character art. Then I woke up and remembered I am broke AF.

But is Wildwood too mature for my childre-SILENCE YOU COWARD! We grew up on movies where a baby dinosaur wept over the corpse of his dead mother and a swamp drowned a live horse. We watched these movies at every sleepover. Has your bloodline degraded so much in a single generation?!

#Disability occurs across all communities. It’s the one oppressed status that might claim anyone, at any time. Disability justice and accessibility are therefore foundational for community equality. But fundamentalism is all about maintaining the predetermined hierarchy, so #ableism is enforced.

I don’t know, man, I’m kind of sick of treating Trump and his cronies like they’re just absurd and laughable and not really spending any time talking about the murders, the concentration camps, the millions starved around the world, people living lives beset with threats of violence and erasure.

“One of the lessons I learned as a young journalist covering earthquakes in California is that the places identified as having the most damage from a natural disaster are not necessarily the worst-hit places. They’re often the places that are the worst hit and still have the ability to communicate.”

What A Charming House@whatacharminghouse.bsky.social

Oh... reply? repost? I can't follow directions. Awww, to be a horrible human again. Now I can share the book unboxing video I made last week, which is anything but an actual unboxing. (Or is it?) Doing the props and costuming was a lot of fun, so, please, have a look. #WritersHorrorChat

Not to brag, but I woke up at 7 and got my writing goals for the day met before I even made breakfast. Plus, I wrapped up chapter 12 with a real banger of a line. Everything after that today is fucking icing on the cake!

Queer media. Used to have to search for it, and quality was mixed. Lots of "kill your gays" bullshit. Now there are so many good queer-centered shows (especially from Thailand) that it's impossible to watch them all.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Anyone who thinks I'm going to quit writing due to AI or other publishing implosions has seriously underestimated my stubbornness. I'm gonna keep cranking out these books until I die, and no God can stop me.

How bad is the writing procrastination today? Well, I just updated my website/blog for the first time in over a year. So, yeah, that's a thing that happened. Should probably get back into the word mines. Weird, gay gaslamp cosmic horror/fantasy doesn't write itself. Or DOES it?

As recently as last month, the Alt National Park Service was amplifying election misinformation. For god's sake, don't trust them. They're just click farmers.

AltWatcher@altwatcher.bsky.social

Extremely interesting piece from @cip.uw.edu at the University of Washington. Long story short, they identify the Alt National Park Service as a key amplifier of conspiratorial misinformation about a "mail dumping" news story last month.

Nate Crowder reposted

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

The fact that the president's doctors are giving him the dementia test over and over again -- tracking his decline, most likely -- and that the president keeps bragging about having to take that test should be a five-alarm fire.

Trump: "You know, the first question -- they have a lion, a snake, a giraffe, and a bear. And they say 'which is the snake?' ... by the time you get to number five a lot of people are left out on the road ... I get no credit for it."

Spending the day writing a future I want to see. A hopeful one set in 2063, where a coalition of nations gets their shit together to reach for the stars -- and the spiteful billionaires who try, and fail, to stop them.

I watched this last night and found it to be both informative and deeply moving. The Statue of Liberty represents the dreams and hopes for what this country can be, but not what it is. Certainly not at this point in history. It made me hopeful we can dream bigger and do better.

Relieved @bradlander.bsky.social is safe, hoping the others will be released soon. But even when they are: Palestinians are still being detained, still attacked daily, still blocked from accessing their trees. Every leading candidate in the Israeli elections supports this intolerable status quo.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.
