Gitte Klitgaard

My work goal is to bring humanity back in the workplace for the benefit of employees and companies. My overall goal is to make the world a better and kinder place. Some values: integrity, authenticity, kindness, fairness, responsibility, honesty, being present.. I am badass and caring 💕

My vision of socialism is based in sufficiency. Whatever mechanism we use for distributing stuff, the goal is to have enough of it for everyone.

For folks in the Massachusetts 4th District, Auchincloss has notably not signed this letter. He is the only member from Massachusetts who hasn’t. If you live in his district, call his office and urge him to sign on to defend his colleague and democracy: (202) 225-5931

p.s. @rephaleystevens.bsky.social this is what an endorsement looks like. You might be interested in trying one.

I voted early and enthusiastically for @hawkkoh.bsky.social I’ve had some people ask about why. He proactively stands up for trans kids. He will vote to expand the Supreme Court. And he is committed to labor rights and the labor movement in a way few DC politicians are.

Go home capitalism, you’re drunk coloradotimesrecorder.com/2026/10/thir...

My latest books cartoon for @theguardian.com

What a great weekend to knock for Joe Markey! Now is the time: make a plan and get out the vote

Regardless of trans rights, gender policing in sports is racist and misogynistic. Women’s sports exist because women were not allowed to play sports. The entire purpose of women’s sports is that women are active people, not fragile objects. Anti-feminists have tried to restore control ever since.

I still can’t get over how the data Richard Dawkins relied on in The Selfish Gene changed once we had no-fault divorce and economic opportunities for women, and yet he absolutely refused to reconsider his conclusions. Some people are just sexists.

Dammit I just inherited a potato masher from my grandmother and put it IN A KITCHEN DRAWER!!!

Sigh. Some — most — days I wish apps and sites would include a "disable annoying features" toggle in their settings. While this might initially seem vague and subjective, I think this is a shared experience with a surprising amount of consensus.

Absolute dick move by Lorenc. I agree with @ericlbarnes.com here. phpnews.net/chainguard-p...

Inviting me to give a talk to a male-only club which charges its hundreds of members $100-250/month, and then saying you have no budget to pay me and instead I should be grateful for access to this community of "well-known entrepreneurs and leaders" is more than grift bullshit, it's insulting

Italy has banned lab grown meat. The Agricultural Minister, Francesco Lollobrigida, said it the ban will protect the country from the “social and economic risks” of the technology. Technology companies build cyborg systems: people+tech. Ignoring the people always limits the success of the tech.

"The moment you compromise the rights of a trans person in America you compromise the rights of every citizen in America" - @aoc.bsky.social We are building a Democratic Party that will stand together for liberation.

“These roots and issuing CAs have gone through independent audits for two years in a row” We do not have audits that prove that software is safe. Or even that it does its one job.

The Israeli government detained Brad Landers for harvesting olives. While the future Congressman has been released, other Americans remain in custody. The occupation is illegal. The impunity is ridiculous. There must be diplomatic consequences.

Sometimes people ask why I want to regulate AI instead of ban it. There is so much software I have wanted to write that was just too expensive to build.

Calling the groups opposing mandatory vaccination “pro-measles” is both accurate and funny.

ADHD treatment saves lives. The DEA needs to be accountable for getting people the drugs they need.

Trans people know what it is like to have people who hate us for their own failures used against us. I hope Amy Acton knows peace and wins big.

Massachusetts politics are too lopsided. That is why the Republican Party must shift dramatically to the left.

With a strong bill sitting in a conference committee, Mass AI Action organized a rally at the state house to advocate for AI regulation. Sign up at massaction.net to get involved!

More Conway’s Law in action … An org has a chat system with dev, product and ops channels. Me: So, I guess you have a product team, an engineering team and an operations team that only communicates with each other over Jira, right? X: How the hell did you notice? Me: eh 🤷 (sigh 😮‍💨🙄)

"I have been challenged to a duel," she said. "For kissing a woman." "Did she consent?" the swordmaster said. "Yes, but men courting her did not." "Ah. How many?" "Are these men good?" She gave three names. "Far below your level." "Excellent!" She rose. "There are more women I want to kiss."

This is just horrible. 16 days without treatment…

Your Harry Potter dollars funded this.

Worried about AI? Join us in Lynn this Wednesday! Me and Emily Kibbe of the @massaflcio.bsky.social will be discussing technology, labor, and what it will take for AI to work for all of us. www.eventbrite.com/e/ghost-in-t...

"There’s hardly a better validation of whether we’re building the right thing than people committing their money." Optimizing for time to first dollar is a neat shortcut to figure out problem-solution fit. pawelbrodzinski.substack.com/p/optimize-p...

Direct Instruction is just Taylorism for education.

Anyone who thinks top-down control is going to improve complex, dynamic systems is ignoring far broader evidence than whatever papers they wave around justifying their specific kind of top-down control.

Meta shutting down Indivisible’s page for today’s No Kings rallies is fascist bullshit. Congress should hold immediate hearings and find out what role Joel Kaplan and Dina Powell McCormick played, and whether there was any communication with the White House.

The parts of programming that remain after the AIs get good are the parts I’ve spent ten+ years working to get programmers to care about. This is going to be a wild journey for the industry.

I am horrified by the attempted attack on a Hindu temple in Aurora. Everyone should be safe in their houses of worship. We must stop selling people the guns that turn bigotry into mass murder. And we must update Section 230 to hold platforms accountable when they get rich promoting bigotry.

Wakefield, Massachusetts Town Council will be discussing Flock cameras at their 7am meeting Monday, October 19th: www.wakefieldma.gov/AgendaCenter... Spread the word! We need action from Beacon Hill & @massgovernor.bsky.social Until then, the fight for privacy is town by town.

Conway's Law in action (cont'd) 🤷 An application has multiple version control repositories: application code, automated tests, infrastructure Me: I guess, you have infra and QA teams separate from your product teams, right? X: Huh, how did you notice?!? 😳 Me: eh 🤷 (oh dear 🙄 ... sigh 😮‍💨 )

So true for most software. I was always fascinated by software product development insatiable hunger for more features.

Elon Musk shutting down Starlink to Ukraine is exactly why the US government must own, not rent, our technology.

The tools are being used against the American people. Our government should serve us, not spy on us.
