sometimes i wonder if i fucked over my life before it even really started. sticking my nose into things i dont know how to deal with. when i cant even keep up with a normal sleep schedule let alone with half the responsibilities i should be able to take on not to mention those i want to take on

one thing i dont quite understand. why does basically every language targetting embedding opt for dynamic typing? like lua, rhai, rune, guile, etc. basically every major language like that opts for dynamic typing. i dont really get it. noting about being embedded as a scripting lang forces that

call me a RIIR project the way i need a trans girl to reimplement my core functionality

What I think is important is to continue caring about the things you love despite anything. The storm will pass. The chaff will be blown away. Good work will continue standing.

also for the record the new webtoon ui is shit. minimising the area dedicated to comments just so you can have us three times the space of "top originals series" or whatever is a shitty ass change to make. not that i expect webtoon to value ui that strengthens communities but still

here i am compiling plasma-desktop again because i decided i didnt like having ibus in my system closure if i wasnt using it .... sometimes i make weird decisions

"nix lix dix" what if someone made yaoi of anthropomorphic cppnix licking anthropomorphic detnix

4 ... one of their private keys ... was 4 ... how- how do you fuck up that badly? if you told me this yesterday i wouldve actually laughed in your face at the idea that any CA would do this

im sorry im sorry intel discontinued the "intel celeron processors" series/brand and replaced it with "intel processors" ... INTEL PROCESSORS MY BROTHERS IN CHRIST THATS ALL YOU MAKE! who the hell thought that rebrand was anywhere close to a good, not confusion causing, plan???

one dream idk if ill ever be able to achieve is founding a not-for-profit ISP. would be cool to have like. collectively owned ISP with open finances and stuff

finally migrated this account to tranquil. that was an experience ... kinda embarrassed of our stuff now heh ... welp stuff to fix ig! prefs ... god i hate prefs. cant wait for them to be replaced

though aside from prefs and a little verification hiccup. that did go pretty smoothly!

all hail digging into databases yourself to pull out stuff that didnt get migrated properly

omg ref impl pds finally fixed their oauth apps screen to actually how all active sessions and not just sessions with an active access token

not that i think the new UI for it is particularly good ... couldve put a proper image and hiding all that stuff behind the details button is kinda pointless. most of the stuff in there i care more about than the authorised at timestamp tbh

honestly i think the main thing id be worried about here is that introducing a blockchain would drive away at least some of the kind of people i specifically want to attract with this. hopefully i can deal with that through framing though. cause i really cant think of a way to solve this without it

ik did:orb uses/wanted to use a witness based approach. i should probably look at that a little more? its been a while since i did. i have the feeling it might turn out to be "blockchain but we dont call it that" though

power dynamics of a network. the short version is i think they dont "do good in the world" in terms of ~"giving power to those who have too little and taking power from those who have too much". however today i read a bit up on alternatives to those two and discovered XRPs consensus algorithm and i

think thats maybe a promising alternative? it grants power, not to those who have the capital to invest in compute power, nodes or stake. but in those who have a record of trustworthy participation in the network. that sounds a lot better to me! copy-pasting it wont work but ill read up on it :3

this might actually be dead on arrival guys :< simplifying this down. only the highest authority key really matters so treat it like its the only key that exists i think. we need a way to rotate that key without the old key having any ways of gaming the decision rules to take back control later

but they can make another operation that also removes their key but adds a new key they control with a higher bit pattern than yours

alr update! i looked around a bit. there were a few reasons i wanted to avoid consensus algorithms, one is speed of operations taking effect. limiting distributed consensus to only applying to the root key is a find tradeoff to me. the second was that i dont like the effect PoW and PoS have on the

though in my opinion even if this does fail to avoid an ordering authority then theres still worthwhile stuff in terms of privacy and the like and maybe someone can think of an ordering authority that isnt just slapping blockchain or a central authority on the issue ... kinda. kinda doubt that tho

well of course one solution is to "just" say that registries will always reject the second attempt at a rotation (or do so after a timelimit just like PLC). reintroducing some degree of ordering authority again. but a distributed one. thats giving the registries a lot of authority though

and theoretically the bad actor could add a bunch of registries that it controls to the DID and then still force a change over to the other rotation like that by high-jacking quorum. thats just making the system quite weak to sybil attacks. still closest thing i can think of right now to a solution

if we cant find that then this whole thing is proooobably bunk i think?

god i hope one day english monolingual product designers will realise that automatic translations from english to our native language IS NOT SOMETHING BILINGUAL L2 SPEAKERS WANT. please stop 😭 why are we translating the whole title, description and THUMBNAIL now?? when the video and comments arent??

just please stop auto translating things its such an anti feature its actually insane. or at the very least let me turn it off !!
