Tom Skerritt always had an air of authenticity in his roles. There was a pure humanity in everything he did that made him incredibly engaging and impossibly endearing. ALIEN, THE DEAD ZONE, TOP GUN, Picket Fences, POISON IVY, MAID TO ORDER — he was even phenomenal in POLTERGEIST III. So it goes.

POLTERGEIST III is like a LA CASA sequel (like GHOSTHOUSE or WITCHERY) where a bunch of horror shit just happens that kind of looks cool (though mostly only in concept) but doesn’t make any damn sense. That also makes it sound more interesting than it actually is.

For its budget and corporate support, STREET FIGHTER (2026) was one of the worst things I’ve seen this year. I’m glad some folks dug it—to each their own!— but man do I loathe that film. Review forthcoming.
