Sometimes I do forget what has happened in a book I’m reading, or lose a thread or a character. You know what I do? I go back a few chapters and re-read it. These idiots don’t just hate reading, the hate *learning* anything.
I’m learning that the people who gamified paragraphs are having trouble reading books. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...
“Real leadership is admitting when you were wrong, not doubling down for decades.” Like denying you knew what a hate symbol was for 17 years? docs.google.com/document/d/1...
There’s nothing more Orwellian than voting to send 18-year-olds to die in another forever war – and then blaming them for it. Real leadership is admitting when you were wrong, not doubling down for decades.
This is the guy you’re defending.
If you've made up your mind after drilling down on Platner with serious investigative intent—not relying on rumor, innuendo, libel or decontextualized sensationalism—you do you. If your mind is open or you simply still feel curiosity, Sebastian Junger has a lot to say worth reading.

It’s a pretty fucking bad decision. And you know what? It DOES say a lot about his competence and trustworthiness. Because he wasn’t bothered by having it, he was bothered by getting found out. He had YEARS to get it removed or covered up. Like Talarico said, who are you when nobody is looking?
So as to this issue, we're not even discussing what Platner *actually believes*, let alone whether he'd be competent and trustworthy in office—which is the explicit moral test set up by the United States Constitution. We're literally talking about how an old bad decision *looks*.
23 is not “college age” and even if it were, college students are adults. If your “opposition to Nazism” is so ardent, you should probably recognize what is probably in the top 3 of Nazi symbols. Dude, give me a fucking break.
For example, whatever you may think about why a drunk college-age Platner got an offensive tattoo alongside other drunk service members in Croatia in 2007, *absolutely everyone who has dealt with him since confirms his ardent opposition to Nazism has been unwavering for decades*.
Ahahaha no one is watching. Wonder why topics like “the rich are paying their fair share” and “stop smoking weed, you hippies” can’t find an audience?

Here’s the thing. If you take away the fact that he’s a sexual predator, pedophile, and rapist, Epstein was STILL a massive piece of shit racist & eugenicist, and anyone associated with him is tainted by that as well. www.codastory.com/authoritaria...

Merchandise 7X in Coca-Cola is a designer form of cocaine that eliminates the high but retains a measure of the addictive properties. Which is why people can’t stop drinking Coke.
in honor of The Onion officially taking over InfoWars, what’s a conspiracy theory you 100% believe? Michael Jordan was doing the exact same shit as Pete Rose (gambling on games his team played in) during his playing career and Nike+the NBA have…done what it took to keep that quiet.

Half of the joy of these is the TV Guide listings above and below.
#StarTrekTNG "The Great Physician" While transporting a vaccine, the Enterprise is attacked by extremists opposed to its use. After installing train tracks in all the Jefferies tubes, Geordi and Data put on their conductor hats. Transporter chief: Kane Hodder.
As the kids say, thread.
A Baltimore-based thread to explain one singular, overriding reason why American journalism is incapable of compassing and explaining the astonishing misrule and the implosion of all our governing norms. To wit: A few decades ago, as a police reporter covering the Baltimore department, a new...

What the fuck is an “anti-bedtime leftist?” Reminds me of the definition of Twitter, ironically: “Twitter is 90% someone imagining a guy, tricking themselves into believing that guy exists, and getting mad about it” Also this graph.
But let's be honest: there's a large cadre that basically cheers on chasing off any lib/centrist/academic who's the punchbag of the day. There's a culture of saying "fuck off back to X, then". And the anti- bedtime leftists set too much of the culture.
This is the first time Kash Patel has ever been referred to as NOT a little person.
The hack of Kash Patel's emails shows that cybersecurity hygiene is just for the little people - who are now on the hook for a $10 million award for info leading to the arrest of the hackers: www.kenklippenstein.com/p/fbi-direct...
I haven’t had a checkbook in over 15 years, maybe 20.
It may seem strange, but cursive handwriting is a fundamental skill that all of our kids should learn. They may not get why now, but that’s how they’ll sign their very first check — or maybe even someday, a bill that gets to the Governor’s desk (trust me, you’ll want good penmanship for that).

Dr. Tingle here dropping some truth. Truthlers.
i swear if we had social media in the past people would call the hippie and punk movements 'cancel culture' too. LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE MOBILIZING AGAINST THE THINGS THAT HURT THEM IS NOT NEW. SORRY BUD IT IS NOT SOME GEN Z FAD IF YOU SUPPORT HATE THINGS AND FOLKS DONT WANT TO BUY YOUR STUFF ANYMORE
Yu-gi-oh voice: “I play my Blue Jersey White Crotch card!” This isn’t even the worst result people have posted, but generally indicative of what a lousy idea this is.
What if you could collect Wikipedia articles and make them battle? Wikigacha, created by Japanese developer Haruki Sugiyama, turns every Wikipedia article into a collectible trading card.

It’s not insulting, it’s just… pointless. LLMs don’t “reckon” or feel or understand. They simply produce text that matches, to the best probability, what a response would be to a prompt. It’s like thinking your car loves you revving the engine because of the “enthusiastic” sound of the engine.
