ffs. They always threaten to leave. They never do. What’s the point of this Labour Govt. these days ? Just killing time till the next election ?

🚨 NEW: John Healey has ruled out raising capital gains tax in the Budget over fears that rich people will leave the UK John Healey wants to prioritise growth and investment over tax rises, despite pressure from senior Labour figures to increase levies on wealth www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Fucking hell. The BBC are really trying to bury this as deep as they can aren’t they ? Whilst being able to say that they have reported on it. Imagine if this was the Labour party. Gordon Brown was made a pariah for calling one woman a bigot ffs. They should be ashamed.

Politico: "The latest Private Eye pulls various data together to suggest the Rachel Reeves agricultural inheritance tax changes might be having the intended impact: pushing tax-avoiders out of farmland and making it more affordable for real farmers." (Cont.)

The BBC seemed to be obsessed with 'small boat' news again, after being quiet on it for the last 18 months. And Farage is up for re-election next week. Do they think we are all stupid ??

After all the hoo-ha from the BBC about the local elections, that led to Starmer stepping down because apparently local elections are as important as the General Election ( they had 24 hour coverage on BBC1 ), and the results meant Reform would sweep to power everywhere, you’d think the Mayoral

What a bunch of conniving shitbags. What the fuck did Starmer ever do to deserve such Machiavellian nonsense ? It looks more and more like it was planned for a very long time. They have lost me totally now. Utter pricks.

The hypocrisy of all of Big Tech and our governments pushing generative AI is unreal. Big tech has pirated the entire creative output of humanity. One rule for them, one rule for us. Reject this pure corporate propoganda about AI. Support artists.

Maybe when Starmer has fully stepped down the UN could appoint him as investigator and prosecutor of the Epstein Files...

I Googled this and it says almost exactly this.. “Global criminal enterprise” and “Crimes against humanity.” References sexual slavery, torture, enforced disappearance and femicide.

Having spent the day, much like every other day at present, listening to journalists and broadcasters restate unsubstantiated claims, and elide the fact of difference with a trigger for racist violence, here are simple rules even Chris Mason might grasp. ⬇️

I don't think WE are debating this. The media are, because it's a talking point for Reform and they want Reform in Govt. and at the centre of 'debate'. So that's all we see. We have no control over what the media show us, but most still think that if it's on the news it's true and important.

Duncan Weldon@duncanweldon.bsky.social

I honestly just find the fact that we are even debating this *utterly* baffling.

Much like Farage's constant 'it was the wrong kind of Brexit' argument, when immigration figures fall, that's now the 'wrong type' of a fall... I despair.. Aided and abetted, via lack of scrutiny, by our state broadcaster....

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Reform are again saying this. BBC were clear it is a drop in immigration today. Broadcasters should challenge/correct inaccurate versions of claims the fall is about emigration

Is anyone reporting on the chaos in the ranks of the British press now that Streeting hasn't triggered a leadership challenge ? Should THEY all step down ? They clearly don't know what they are doing. I have lost faith in them...they should all go

From May 2025 to May 7th 2026, 74 Reform councillors resigned, been expelled, suspended or defected to other parties By-elections triggered by resignations & expulsions can cost £20,000 - £30,000 depending on ward size This comes from council budgets & is paid for by our taxes! #NeverVoteReform

@news.sky.com I noticed this morning that you are calling by Nadine Dorries an MP ( in your ‘coming up’ graphic ) She is not an MP. She was, but she isn’t anymore. I know you love Reform, but you can’t just make stuff up.

Why on Earth have the BBC put aside all the usual programming on Friday to have wall to wall 'coverage' of the LOCAL elections, as if it's a General Election ?? People aren't that bothered about locals, and the BBC certainly were not bothered about them until this year.

There surely is no public appetite for this ? They must simply want to put pressure on Starmer and the Govt. and praise Reform ( assuming they achieve what Chris Mason imagines they will ). They are trying to dress this up as significant, when every other time it's been dismissed as 'mid term stuff'

It can’t be too hard to not have food out on the shelves, can it ? Or move the shelves behind a counter so people can’t just walk in and take it ? Seems a bit iffy to me.

Tremendously depressing read. Also: proper reporting. open.substack.com/pub/londonce...

Imagine how this would be headline news 24-7 if we had a Reform or a Tory Government. The BBC would be demanding we all throw petals at the feet of Farage..

The number of people crossing by small boat this year compared to last year. The fall is very real and not seasonal. Little difference in numbers during the winter but since numbers increased in spring, half as many people are coming as this time last year. This is mainly because of European trends.

There have been loads of reports about social media and it’s effect on kids in the last week…I haven’t heard a single one mention parents. Do parents not exist anymore ? Are you not allowed to mention parental responsibility these days ? An alien would think that kids are left on their own after 3.

If true, Nigel Farage's claim that the real reason why net migration numbers are down in because of "exodus" of British people escaping a broken society would show up in this red line spiking dramatically up - but it is very flat indeed. His claim is made up to claim immigration hasn't fallen
