Oh. Hey. @noahvannguyen.bsky.social 's "Blood of the Godeater" is out. "Godeater's Son" is fantastic and a great start to reading the AoS books, so I'm legitmitately excited for the sequel. You, yes you, dear person who just had this cross their timeline, should buy "Blood of the Godeater". Please.

So I went for gas, $3.29/g @ Costco. Filled 15.38g ($50.62) but had to drive 15 miles, burning 44% of a gallon based on my MPG rating. Let's round to 50%, keep it easy—tack on price for total of $52.26. That said, we cleaned up 5% in rewards because of my wife's card. So I'll chop that off: $49.73.

What I learned from all this is that if you go the extra mile, you can save $1.09 in gas, and if you do that every time you fill up, the USA still would have spent $29 billion to lose a war in Iran that cost Americans $132 billion all so we could distract ourselves from how our king is a felon

Now, the cheapest gas nearby was $3.35/g, about 3 miles there and back again, which would have come out to $51.52, or $51.85 when calculating mileage in. +2% in rewards on my card cuts the hypothetical total to $50.82. (Is my math mathing?) $49.73 at Costco, $50.82 nearby. $1.09 in savings.

Obviously, these calculations don't include road time. No problem, because I like the time out of the house and got to go to Costco with my family. The Costco drive is ~15 min longer, which would have been $$ when I was corporate. But now I mostly flick my boogers at the wall so no biggie.

Good news! After a hellish half-year, I can safely say I've got my mojo back 🏆💪 I'm back into a robust writing rhythm and have been working smoothly for two months now. Today's the first time in a long time, after so much effort, that I really felt the old joy. The reason I started writing. Man...

Anyways, I'm working on a novel I think many folks will be excited for. Can't say much about it. Except that it reveals Sigmar was primarch of both the 2nd and 11th legion, and shows what the Emperor was up to in 1989, and explains how Be'lakor teleports between the AoS and 40k settings.

@mmm0pan.bsky.social totally not rude my friend, I'm so glad you shared! I've seen your sketches btw, me and my editor geeked out over them together :) I've actually been rereading this while caring for my mother after her stroke. It's been lonely and hard, so this was right on time. Thank you :)

Fellow Americans, you and I pay the men who killed Alex Pretti. We bought the pepper spray they used to blind him. We bought the guns and the bullets used to summarily execute him. Our money pays officials to lie about his murder. They picked our pockets and are terrorizing us with the proceeds.

If there's a general strike and I walk off the dayjob while still writing at home, I'm technically a both scab and a striker. A man of two faces, one foot in two worlds. Born to be a prince, chose to be a a pauper. 💅🔨☕️🥐🚘❣️

This isn't going to be the last time. The administration will stand by its Proud Boys and Oathkeepers, the goons will feel empowered, and more triggers will be pulled in even less excusable circumstances. It only ends when we decide it ends — either because we gave in, or because we stopped it.

One of my deathbed memories will surely be our discussion about the similarities between 40k and life in Hong Kong And great time to mention I'm on a Necron spree — "Infinite and the Divine" is next on my list 🎯 (Just finished Severed by @frogcroakley.bsky.social and WOW. I'm spoiling myself.)

The best direct flight to HK I could put my family on left from NY, so I did seven hours of driving today, some in rush hour traffic… …and had a *good-ass time* doing it, because it meant I could listen to the climax of ELEMENTAL COUNCIL by @noahvannguyen.bsky.social Y’all read this book? Read it!

@heretical-hatter.bsky.social This is incredible. I see your older version too. I can absolutely imagine different members in the intelligence cliques wearing their own caste's version, too. Fun fact, I spent a long time trying to figure out what to name the Hundred Eyes. My first draft had them...

@noahvannguyen.bsky.social Per my request - a great artist (Hayden Lumpkin) - with whom I work with for my Star Wars x Warhammer 40k crossover - created symbols for the Hundred Eyes. The organization YOU created. What do you think?

named after the Eastern Depot (www.britannica.com/topic/Easter...), if I recall correctly. And before that, when I was figuring out how to write about them, I had imagined them as all water caste. Just saw Predator: Badlands and holy shit. Just wow. 11/10 so much story, phenomenal acting, teach me your ways Dek and Dan Trachtenberg. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Elle Fanning, and the anonymous soldier android actor(s?) killed it. I don't even know what to do with my life now.

It's a fantastic example of customer-friendly business priorities, and I think it's no small reflection of how many GW/BL staff are also customers themselves. They just care. BTW, this is a good time to mention how I just came off a pilgrimmage to Holy Nottingham and was fortunate enough to...

meet many of these people I'm describing in the abstract. I honestly could not have been more impressed, both by my cohort of fellow writers and the staff at BL. Truly glorious. Going to try and make this a yearly thing!

and that's healthy for the bottom line. You'll often see ad platforms knowingly service criminals who propagate malicious websites just because the criminals pay for the ads — and because there's enough anonymity for plausible deniability. Even more relevant, the costs of implementing...

operational controls that prevent this activity don't always pay off (as alluded to in the article; scalpers are adaptable and don't play by any rules). The ROI is never simple to understand. All this is why I'm quite proud as a freelance collaborator to see actions taken here...

Thank you for asking @lumi-nee.bsky.social :) Gave me a reason to do long-awaited magnetizing. Back in 3rd ed. I chose the shadow grey color scheme they illustrated (maps pretty closely on to Sa'cea). I played around with it over some years. If I could redo it I would try and reproduce that camo!)

This YouTube channel, @DeadliftsForTheDarkGods, publishes content I've been devouring these past few days. What got me is the guy did some voiceovers with sound effects for Elemental Council. A contact sent one my way, I was entranced, and now I'm just down the rabbithole. 10/10

I get the logic, Dept of War sounds more warriorly than Defense. But why stop there? Why not the Temple of War or Cult of Annihilation or Murder Inc or something? Tons of rebranding opportunities being missed right now smh

Yndrasta was a fun one to write. I have this monster story that I thought would be cool for her: a horror story in Sigmaron where she's hunting down a beast that chews up Stormcast for fun. Kind of like "Murder by Moonlight" turned on its head.

What a better place to read @noahvannguyen.bsky.social’s Yndrasta than on a train through Alaska? It feels right. #BlackLibrary #WarhammerCommunity

I was glad to see @mehdirhasan.bsky.social's debate on Jubilee for this. In the post-interview clip you could really tell that the event was eye-opening for some of the attendees who realized who they were in politically bed with.

Lucius Tuck@luciust.bsky.social

Okay, but they run our government. Seems like they completely own the debate right now, so someone actually needs to call them on how stupid and deplorable their ideas are to their faces in a public setting.
