I usually wonder why these losers aren't embarrassed that their families will see this shit, but I remembered that White was guilty of abusing his wife and son & ordered to have no contact for fifty years, so they'll probably never see this. Anyway, good luck dying alone and unloved, clown.

Does Polymarket let you bet on whether or not the CEO of Polymarket will die in the coming week? No? Huh. So you can bet on lots of *other* people suffering, and you can potentially profit by *causing* that suffering. Just not them? They're off limits. OK.

Ars Technica@arstechnica.com

Lawmakers from Oregon, California, Nevada, Minnesota, and New Hampshire specifically called out Polymarket, which hosted bets in January 2025 on the wildfires in Los Angeles.

I too was on the "Mitch McConnell is definitely dead" train but I just had a call with the man and he sounds fine. We talked about Iran, the average heat of hellfire, how it feels to be eternally impaled through the rectum with a burning trident. He looks forward to returning to D.C.!

I'd like to propose that we drain all of Sam Altman's blood and then offer to sell it back to him at cost.

Denny Carter@dennycarter.bsky.social

They stole the internet’s knowledge and all the work that went into it and they want to sell it back to us for a fee. What a business model.

It is really, really wild how persistent and prominent this remains in common LLMs. There seems to be an air of "well they fixed that" and it is 100% not true: most of the energy just seems to be going towards 'being plausible enough to be accepted', ie style and not accuracy or truth

Paris Marx@parismarx.com

OpenAI ”acknowledged in its own research that LLMs will always produce hallucinations due to fundamental mathematical constraints that cannot be solved through better engineering, marking a significant admission from one of the AI industry’s leading companies.” You can’t trust chatbots.

Under a new policy released Thursday, the Trump Administration will test conversion therapy on trans people in prisons. It explicitly states that it aims to help trans people “recover,” all the while forcibly detransitioning them both medically and socially. transitics.substack.com/p/the-trump-...

MAGA cultists will literally create convoluted conspiracy webs about a dem ordering pizza to tie them to being a pedo but completely ignore their leader having thousands of pages in the Epstein files after decades of him shamelessly bragging about creeping on minors.

the actual Republican parents who support the politicians pushing for this think the effort and money they spent parenting are wasted if their kids turn out different from them. You eliminate that possibility by eliminating the public existence of other kinds of people.

Spooky Sasquatch@nerdysasquatch.bsky.social

This might be a hot take, but if parents are so concerned about what their kids see online, then they should actually do some damn parenting themselves instead of campaigning for governments to make things worse for everyone.

yeah seeing the "Minneapolis took off because the so-called 'activists' got out of the way and let normal people in" takes is really frustrating. that's not at all an accurate look at what's happening in Mpls or anywhere else. All these movements rely on cores of people who have experience.

Puff the Magic Hater@mskellymhayes.bsky.social

Lots of regular degular, never-done-an-activism folks have been activated in recent months and are working alongside a bunch of seasoned, die-hard, been-tired-for-ten-years-or-more organizers, and you don't know all of those stories bc most people are moving with a bit of discretion in these times.

it is funny how all the fictional monsters we imagined taking over the U.S. for the last 30 years are objectively better people than the current regime. Give me Skeletor, please. Cobra Commander wants to run shit? He can hardly be worse than what we're rockin' today. It's worth a shot!

Instead of letting people have drugs that keep them healthy, Kennedy's "solution" looks very much like punishing them for perceived personal failures by putting people into labor camps, which he euphemistically calls "wellness farms." See you at the concentration camp.

this is largely just a difference in framing but imo the thing that destroys fascists constantly is that almost none of them can accurately judge risk. Franco was a huge exception. he actually was very intelligent and savvy. not common traits among his kind.
