In tonight's 3-1 win over Charlotte FC, the Columbus Crew set a club regular-season record with 33 shots, while their 14 shots on target tied for the second most in club history.

What a day for album releases! New one from @russiancircles.bsky.social (certified banger well done boys!), another from the almighty Mastodon, Czarface with Frankie Pulitzer (aka Tom Hardy yes that Tom Hardy), and the most insane lineup of remixes for Turnstile (Sir Elton John AND Dying Fetus??)

No commercials during that hydration break? Does MLS even want to make money?? #crew96

Fox never would’ve let that moment slip through their fingers. Apple deal clearly a failure.

Great #USMNT win! But I do look forward to the time when my American friends that hate soccer aren’t forced to watch it anymore so I don’t have to listen to them saying how much they hate soccer while they watch soccer.

We're consolidating future fundraising efforts through GoFundMe. Sadly, my lawyers aren't working in exchange for long looks into my deep-sea blue eyes! You can donate anonymously! And even just sharing this link with your network is a major move! www.gofundme.com/f/rooster-fr...

New @boardsofcanada.bsky.social album is surely something! I have loved these guys since wayyyyy back in the early 2000s (probably before Geogaddi released). This new one feels like an extension of their previous work, but also surprisingly new. I suppose that's to be expected after 13 years.

Pretty awesome that they're able to expand their sound but also make something that sounds familiar. The themes here seem to really skew toward the religious, which I'm guessing is part of the point they're trying to make. They explore a few religions in their samples and whatnot.

I've always found it interesting that they are able to express so many ideas in what is ostensibly electronic music without vocals or lyrics. Anyways, one of, if not the most, favorite bands of mine dropping a new album always makes for a great day!

I was looking at a rabbit in my back yard and I started to wonder how many generations of its family I’ve seen. Assuming a 2 year generation and me living here 15 years that means I’ve seen about 7 generations. 7 human generations ago was 1851. I am a god to these bunnies.

These little guys were whining at me as I walked by this morning. Clearly up to no good! #Racoons #UrbanWildlife

Also today @joshcrowley.bsky.social writes about the Cult of the Just World. The poor and sick are poor or sick because of the choices they made. The wealthy, on the other hand, have earned their riches by their savvy. Wealth is righteously earned and poverty is righteously dispensed as punishment.

As a #Crew96 fan, things I’m tired of hearing about (in this order): 1. Wilfred Nancy being gone and the team playing a different style. 2. Nagbe retiring and the team missing his ability to control play through the midfield. 3. Cucho being gone (two years hearing about this one).

Social movement scholar here to comment on No King again. a 🧵: These protests are important b/c: 1.) as sustained image events, protests offer evidence of continued disapproval of the direction the country is going and disavowal of the country's leadership.

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

The NY Times saves its harshest skepticism for progressives. Instead of being impressed by 3,000+ coordinated protests, NYT dismisses the value of “hitting a number” and asks if No Kings will be “a primal scream that fades into a whimper.” F off, NY Times. We'll defeat fascism w/o you. (Gift link)

Got these #Crew96 cards in my Topps 2025 boxes this week! Two Nagbes, a signed Tristan Brown, our boy Taha, Raptor Rossi, and Gazdag - pretty good haul. Excited for the game tomorrow!!

ICYMI. Free post. Lot of stuff here. There's also a fundraising effort to get me to training camp in Florida for a few days, and land my own interview with Rydstrom (who will be flying in when he finished visa paperwork). Like, share and click on the tip button, etc. Have a nice day. #Crew96

Swedish journalist Christian Gustafsson had quality one-on-one time with new #Crew96 coach Henrik Rydstrom earlier this month. A (lengthy) synthesis (poaching) of these interviews will post at thedisrespected.com and hit subscribers' inboxes early Fri. a.m. www.thedisrespected.com/p/e5f1ae38-9...

~1,660 Afghans cleared by the U.S. Govt to resettle in the U.S. are having their flights canceled because Trump suspended the refugee program. Let me repeat—these are people already cleared through all security clearances. And by the way, these aren't just Afghans, they're also Americans. 1/2

NEW: Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine did a bad thing. Then, he tried to talk his way around it. At Law Dork today, I take on Ohio's new law allowing local law enforcement to charge up to $750 for public records video requests — things like bodycam, dashcam, or jail footage.
