Justice matters most when it works for the people who need it. But too often, conversations about reform focus on processes not experiences. Meaningful change requires a whole-system approach that looks at what shapes people's legal problems & pathways to resolution. 👉 https://ow.ly/b0CK50ZFytN

📍 Walk-in mental health hubs to open in banks & libraries across England. Nuffield Foundation welcomes these plans, with our research showing how formal mental health support for young people especially is insufficient & overstretched. ‘Higgledy piggledy’ is how young people described the system.

Our research shows that there is a gap between the level of need & level of support. Around 1 in 10 people aged 16-24 had been in contact with mental health services, but only 1 in 25 had two contacts or more. Support needs to be timely, seamless & accessible when & where young people need it.

Andy Burnham wants to reshape politics & public spending. But delivering meaningful change will require sustained political capital & follow through. As responsibilities are increasingly shared across combined authorities & local government, the question is not simply how much money is available.

Drawing on five years of research and more than 150 interviews, a new report argues that the UK's centralised model of spending control no longer reflects how public services are delivered. The findings point to a need for fundamental reform, including a greater focus on long-term outcomes.

What are people's views of the justice system? We asked members of the public 👇 This video follows our latest research, which found that many people facing legal issues are too often navigating complex processes alone – without the advice, guidance or support they need. 🔗 ow.ly/lvv250ZtN6f
