1992, Day by Day@the90sbyday.bsky.social

Oct. 15, 1992 (Thu) - The Sega CD is released into video game stores. It is a CD-ROM peripheral add-on for the Sega Genesis. It plays CD-based games and adds hardware functionality such as a faster CPU and a custom graphics chip for enhanced sprite scaling and rotation.

GamePro #24 brings us our second perfect video game in the history of the mag - Valis III on the SEGA Genesis. The shitty shittiest in the rag is a tie between NES filler Bill Elliot's NASCAR Challenge and Legends of the Diamond. Listen to all of bullshit on the issue @ kite.link/gamepro24

My Color Dreams Experience continues with a game that is genuinely legitimately good, and also with a game that is the single worst thing I have ever seen on the NES. In conclusion, Color Dreams is a land of contrasts: Crystal Mines & Robodemons | NES Works 176 youtu.be/Tb9fXrl6LJ4

Bad Game Hall of Fame@bghof.com

'Ghostbusters' on NES released on this day in 1986. A conversion of Activision's 1984 computer title to console; infamous for its repetitive music, grindy gameplay, and a particularly wonky translation of the game's ending text. Conglaturation!!!

I’m trying to wrap my head around a first strategy game experience being playing a 16-bit console Nobunaga port in 2026 and it’s breaking my brain.

My new rabbit hole I’ve been sucked into is Nobunaga’s Ambition on the SNES. I’ve never played a long form strategy game like this before but it’s really fun for a 30 year old game.
