Ten years ago today. In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine...

Ballers Abroad, Vol. 1: Cobb in Korea. Wheels down in Ulsan, chopsticks up. Tremayne Cobb Jr. takes us from airport mode to first meal mode, with zero jet lag in the appetite.

bbc.com/news/article... If the west wants to help out Ukraine they should load up forces on the Kaliningrad border to run an NFL style naked bootleg (football vernacular). Russian sends scarce resources there, and Ukraine can then "break a big one." Monday morning quarterbacking.

Oakland Ballers need a hat for the fans that has a spoon. The east bay hippies would love it. Dig into their Ballers tabouli while watching a game. #oaklandballers

For some weird reason spotting spoons stuck in people's hats has made me happy ever since I was a little girl. Just seemed like a smart way to carry a spoon in case of emergency eating. Was it only a thing in the low countries? Anyway, some examples:

Thanks Oprah for unleashing this A-hole upon us.

Frank Zappa was surprisingly politically astute, for anyone who just enjoyed his music. I learned about his Crossfire interviews many years later. He was so intuitive and insightful. He died of prostate cancer at age 52... So had he survived, he might very well have lived to say "I told you so!"

So sad. No one in sac cares about them, and no one in Vegas will have any clue about who there were, or what they did. Seeing Alderson who I thought had character, now relegated to simping for this wretched franchise.

2026 class of the Athletics Hall of Fame : The late Dave Henderson (represented by his son), Mark Ellis, John “Blue Moon” Odom, Sandy Alderson . All quality people on and off the field Mark Ellis will always be remembered scooping on Root Beer float day after being traded to Rockies that morning

Somebody in the room needs the institutional authority to say: “Mr. President… what the fuck is wrong with you?” Apparently that position wasn’t included in the staffing plan.

Oh, and I read autobiography of Francoise Gilot and I had to put it down. I found I couldn’t stand her, she was as cold as Picasso. Can’t really appreciate her art anymore.

GARY OLDMAN as Cary Grant from ‘North By Northwest’ for a photo project whereby Actors posed for a role they always dreamt of playing. (It had to be self-deprecating, ironic, absurd, a bit twisted and kind of like a funny/bad dream take on the movie.) Love it.
