🍂 Hope your autumn is going well 😊 We are only a few days out from Halloween/Samhain! 🌙 It's been a minute, so I wanted to bring attention to my new EP, "My Name is My Anchor", which is on all digital outlets now! This would be a great addition to any seasonal playlist🤘🏻🏳️‍⚧️ #metalsky #transjoy

Very good post. I think a lot of people who cling rigidly to hard/soft definitions for magic forget how incredibly complex and uncontrollable the natural processes of the real world still are to humans.

And for my paid subscribers, this month's flash fiction about feral mermaid clones "The water column rippled, bringing with it a colder current from the far off. Scalefall writhed, tasting the change of the season like crisply brittle darter bones." www.oleandercraw.com/flash-fictio...

Annihilation always makes Halloween lists, so I thought I'd do a thread of creepy reads. Starting today with a flat-out modern masterpiece, Max Lury's No Ghosts. Thoroughly contemporary and disturbing grounded in deep characterization, and, in part, outdoing Back Rooms while also its own thing. 1

there really is something so heartbreaking seeing huge studios with life long fans closing down while more and more genAI games start to flood the industry. support human creativity. support artists, storytellers, coders, and anyone else who works to bring raw spirit to these things.

I hope workers in other game studios see WoTC unionizing, and see the mass layoffs and BioWare closing and decide it's time to put their foot down. What do we have to lose by unionizing? A job that you're afraid every day you'll be laid off from anyway? UNIONIZE THE GAME INDUSTRY!

There is something so soul crushing about creating art that pushes the needle in the games industry, only to be thanked by using the capital gained from said art to push the ones who created it out of a job.

Welp, looks like the nerve study shows I damaged a nerve when I injured my elbow, which I'd already guessed but it's good to have confirmation. Wish my job would pay me disability pay (they denied the claim) and I didn't owe $2k to my job to continue insurance benefits while I'm out on medical leave

My secret dream is to win all the awards with a self published book because why not?

CE (Catie) Murphy@cemurphy.bsky.social

...that no independently published book has won a Hugo, that what I currently *mean* is 'no self-published book has won a Hugo' - although actually the other is also true, which probably just emphasizes the point of "self or indie published does not mean a lack of quality."

No matter what anyone tells you in indie, “debut” day for your novel doesn’t mean shit. Keep posting it. Every day is your book’s birthday. Mine have done their best sales 3 years after release. Just keep talking about it.

Hi! Would you like me on your podcast? I'm highly entertaining, and can waffle at length about queer fiction, Arthurian and Celtic mythology, Star Trek, Doctor Who, corgis, vans, comic cons, vampires, and probably thirty other subjects. Hit me up!
